Replying to [Sherry]:I am a large commercial rapeseed trader. I dont normally fall suspect to the scams that Alibaba are plauged with. But I have come accross an offer that I dont know if I should beleive or not. All the procedures are normal and correct, they are not asking for any money up front, they are offering 2% PB, and expect to be paid by LC after SGS confirms quality and quantity. I dont know what their angle is??
This particular deal for 25,000 mt of rapeseed oil monthly. The soft offer given to me said the origin was Nigeria, and they told me that they had unlimited supply. After I complained about the fact that I dont think Nigeria produces rapeseed oil, they sent the FCO with origin Africa, and said that they only have 25,000mt/month available cause all the rest has been sold. I dont normally play games with these companies, but supply is tight, and I need the oil.
I have been trying to find statistics on exactly how much rapeseed is produced in Africa, (if any) and what regions they might be. If there is rapeseed there, I will buy it. I would love to help a developing country sell their products... But I always do my due diligence, and I wont be scammed.
The company is called Springfield Trading LLC. The address for this company is in USA, although I can not contact them there. I deal with their representitive and lawyer in Italy.
Not much to go on, so it really comes down to my question above. Is there any rapeseed in Africa?
