In recent years, Africa's foreign trade has been increasing rapidly following recent government reforms encouraging the development of business. With an unsaturated market and few competitors, many foreign companies place Africa high in their priorities.

However, there are a small number of fraudsters who make trading with Africa too risky for many businesses. Despite the huge opportunities Africa offers to traders, this small minority are responsible for holding back African trade for many companies.

What's your opinion? Is trading with Africa a risk or reward?

Every kind of business has its own rate of risk. no matter high, low or almost none..there will always be risk. A good businessman use his due diligence and turn the risk into profits, not avoiding it. As Africa is a highly prospective source country, that would be the jungle to make fortune. Challenging but full of reward. [em21]

Yes, I agree, does not matter if it is Africa or any other countries. Trading with other countries come with risk.

Should not make a post like this, IMO, readers may misunderstand your intention, and treat "Trading w/ Africa" a high risk as a fact.

I have no discriminatory comments on African businessmen. On the one hand, I've got some reliable business partners from African countries, on the other hand, I've also met some business scammers from UK, USA and other developed countries. Scams exist in every country and the same to honest and reliable ones. [em1][em1]

Let's suppose for a moment that dealing with Africans is riskier, from a statistical point of view. What practical difference does it make? In either case I'm dealing with an individual, not a statistic. So I have to make sure this - and only this - individual is honest, knowledgeable, etc. The rest of his country might be as crooked as can be; I don't care!

Statistics have no real meaning in this case.

I agree with Germex, if you are dealing with an individual the statistics don't matter. Africa (especially West Africa) may have a bad reputation for scammers, but there are scammers in every country, in every industry, and of every nationality, religion, sex, skin color, etc.

No matter where you are doing business, there is always a risk, and remember, when something bad happens people cry the loudest, when something good happens you hardly ever hear about it.

Give Africa a chance, you may just find your most successful market there.

Trade with Africa, Try to control risk and get Rewards!
Africa is a big markets of textiles and garments too,I think.
Let's try to know about Africa, try to open the markets and develope it. Safety is first, then make money. Do not believe any big profits or big money in the beginning.
The African markets need lower prices products with reasonable quality.

Business in Africa is very rewarding as the majority are very honest in their dealings when it comes to business.
