As Harry said, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

If Mods appear to have special privileges to post pics, ordinary members will perceive "elitism" at play.

Contrary to what SS said, we Mods do not have tools to post pics on Alibaba. The subject pics are being posted by clever backdoor manipulation of html. Many other Mods can also manipulate html language to post pics - but we don't because such is against Alibaba policy.

I do not favour these false signals to ordinary members that Mods enjoy elitist privileges to post pictures. We do not. Such privilege, if ever officially allowed, must be granted to one and all members (at least in my opinion).

The day you start to destroy "equality" in any internet forum, any further than what is only essential to keep good order, is the day the forum starts to self-destruct..

Until this matter is sorted out, perhaps the interim solution is for SS to confine his pics to his own forum to reduce false perceptions that we Mods have special privileges to post pics. Again I say, no Mod was ever granted the privilege to post pics. How about it SS?

This is not to say I do not like pics. The issue is that ordinary members see themselves as "equal" to Mods when it comes to forum posting rights. The day this equality is destroyed is the day I resign from Alibaba. [em1]

Moderator Panel

To this, I must reply, there is no false perceptions or any clever tricks to change the Source Codes in HTML. Another FALSE statement: Moderators (most of them as to your assumption) knows how to put a picture in the Forum.

However I will not agree with this assumption, as the people who are able to put a picture in the Forum are the Members, like Wilhelm and Agarwal.

You said that I have led others with wrong signals that we are given the panel to put in the graphics. You must be doing your own forum with eyes closed, or have been ignorant of the uses of those icons on the panel just above the text box area.

I only started to place the pictures in after a staff from Alibaba taught me to do it. Another wrong assumption: "It is Alibaba's policy not to allow members to put in pictures." It was not Alibaba's policy as in the Guidelines to Moderators for the pictures... on the reverse, it is Alibaba's policy not to advertise your product or services in the Forum, which you did in the Due Deligence section and it caused much protest from other members.

What I saw previously was some futile attempt to place graphics into the Due Deligence front page, as there were moments of 'emptiness' and catestrophic disasterous display of blank pages with the promises of more to come, but never did.

I did the pictures, and have removed them because the engineers have thought it to be the cause of slowdown on the uploading of Alibaba's Webpage. What I did was not with ill intent or selfish interest or personal gain.

After doing the picture in your own Forum, simply copy and paste the Source Code, or click the move or copy button to any other Forum. FYI, the picture icon is the little yellow square with a mountain pic on it.
