Replying to [kai1]:I would request for third party inspection certificate, you can ask the seller to pay the charges or if not you will pay, but this will min. the risks as the inspection company can inspect quality, quantity, packing,marking and loading. this is the safest way to deal with unknown/first time seller.

Even if you buy FOB you must state in The Document required in L/C that B/L is required
Just The B/L will state freight to collect not Freight Prepaid ( as in CFR) and you pay to the shipping Company to recieve the goods
when the ship arrive

Pls remember that under every conditions, the shipping company/shipping agency will issue B/L to the SHIPPER/CONSIGNER, they never issue B/L to the CONSIGNEE even the consignee arranges the shipment under FOB term. Because B/L is a kind of certificate to own the cargo.

Replying to [kai1]: i am amused are u an importer? in any terms either cfr cif or fob the steamer company will issue BL stating cfr cif or fob as the case may be in short ss company will issue bl stating fob port and name the discharge port, then why u r worried?
