Not steal other provider’s thoughts by simply renaming the title. I've seen it happen. Also we should build a forum that’s very specific or difficult for most members to comprehend as we are here to help one another.

What we need is a listing of questions or topics that are recommended by moderators because they would also like an opinion on that given matter… we all work with different buyers / sellers (some of which to say the least) have strange request. I don’t know about you but I think 12 month terms to be extreme.

I don't quite understand what you are trying to say here.

Are you accusing some Moderators of renaming some topics, and then claiming it is their posting?

[em28]

If so, we would certainly like to know about any such incidence.

1. " Also we should build a forum that’s very specific or difficult for most members to comprehend as we are here to help one another."

Answer - Kindly tell me what is the purpose of a statement like the one above?

The forums are here to take the mystification out global trade not make it harder.

2. "What we need is a listing of questions or topics that are recommended by moderators because they would also like an opinion on that given matter"

Answer - First off most every moderator is selected because they already have a knowledge of the subject matter. At other times already established moderators are placed in a fourm to maintain the policies of Alibaba until new moderators with product specific knowledge emerge and decide to donate their time to that forum.

Also, all you have to do is look at the top of any forum where moderators have decided to recognize particular threads either due to their questions and their responses. These threads are noted by the [em19] which means moderator reccommended. If the moderator feels that the thread might lead to a broader interest they will also affix it to the top of the page signified with an up arrow. moderators at times also will do surveys or ask questions by affixing 100 points to the question, and even in some cases awarding more points to other notable responders. You may see that moderators have high MVP points but those points mean nothing to a moderator because they can not win promotions by Alibaba as non-moderating members can. The point counts are also high due to the shear fact of the amount of postings we reply to and or the questions we ask. Also at times posters will give the points to us because we have answered their questions.

3. "we all work with different buyers / sellers (some of which to say the least) have strange request. I don’t know about you but I think 12 month terms to be extreme."

Answer - Where does this have anything to do with your subject? If your asking about payment terms why not take it to the payment and finance forum?

4. "Not steal other provider’s thoughts by simply renaming the title."

Answer - I havent seen a moderator do this but I have seen other members use moderator statements as their own. ( But then if they didnt think it was a good or best answer they wouldn't have copied it)

I can only speak for myself but if while reading another posting in a forum other than the one I moderate I will copy the post in its entirety if I feel that it has relative use in my forum. But I will always state that the posting was created by the original author. I personally have done this a couple of times with regards to legal statements made by (lawyer He) with regards to recouping money of scammed victims in China.

I am REALLY confused by this one.

I have, on a few very specific occasions, reworded a persons title to a post, usually becasue the title does not describe the actual question well, or spelling is way off.

I have also, very rarely, taken a reply from a member which is NOT on the topic of the original post, and split it out to be the starting post for a new thread... I have a feeling I might have done that for you Plant.... The reply you made in a post was nothing to do with the topic you posted it in, but it was a good post so I split it out as a new post........... IS that what you are talking about?

Replying to [Foow]:After reading this I see it reads a little harsh, as this is free I don’t read over what I post; this is my fault and I apologize. I didn’t mean it that way, but I have noticed topics that a moderator recommended and then changed the subject title therefore negating the reason for the original post.

I like to post general questions/statements that I have not seen posted… like when I stated that I thought 12 month terms was a bit extreme this was an actual request I got from one of the worlds leading retail chains and I would think other manufactures have had similar experiences. This is a way to speak about a subject/industry confidentially without jeopardizing future business. I think this is beneficial to all (just my opinion).

Elaborating on what I originally posted I thought it would be a good idea to have a must read topic encompassing various topics that moderators/participants thought were a good read. I have read some of Ranger’s and your post in which I felt would fall in this category… but hey opinions are like a**holes everybody’s got one (here’s an everyday idiom for the English forum LOL).

I appreciate your candor and want all respondents to understand this was by no way meant to be an attack on anyone’s character; this was just a statement which was meant to invoke thought outside the given parameters.

Kind Regards,
