Do you email someone without letterhead for the first time?

I will be angry if so.

Replying to [tianye]:No. Definately not!!! But, in this day and age when more and more people are using email I was just wondering how people in this forum might think. Alibaba has email templates for everyone to use when making a first inquiry. This seems strange to me. I wasn't taught to approach a business person in that way. And, I'm still struggling with the "fax". Even the fax machine can't show the grade of paper I use for my letterheads when trying to make a good first impression.[em17]

But, you know there's always a first time for everything. I'm going to ask the President of the United States for his opinion. If he does it then, I m-i-g-h-t give it a try.[em2]

Hi,

Letter Heads are not Outgoing fashion in the market or industry. It will always remain green. So there is no comaprison between Letter head and Emails. Emails are quick reply procedures and Letter Heads it to show the dignity and Importance of the person who is giving the note on the Letter Head.

Thanks

Fax is a good way to contact other people ,but the expense will be very high. You may be the exception ,to use fax instead of business email. But what not use email box since it is cheap and convenient?

It will be definitely an honor to talk about something with the president. Can you get the chance to approach him.
One of my US friends sent me a photo two day ago,in the picture there were three people, her son and daughter and your president ,Mr Bush. That is simply a fun, only once in a lifetime you know.
I will never imagine what it is like when I could stand together with our chairman.

Replying to [tianye]: Yes. Email is definately something I need to get used to.

As for meeting President Bush, yes it is possible and yes it is an honor but only after you go through a rigorous background check by the US Secret Service. The Secret Service act as his bodyguards. Your friends were probably in the right place at the right time, too! It is possible to call and talk to his White House secretary and ask questions about him like "does he use email?" There are Tour groups going through certain parts of the White House at times but never through "his office" unless special arrangements are made in advance and only with his permission. Our President, even though he is probably the most powerful man in the world, is still a "public servant". No one elected him GOD!

As for meeting your Chairman, have faith! If your heart is in the right place you will have the honor!

Replying to [tianye]: Personally I don't see that much of a difference in that both democrats and republicans can sometimes change roles. But, in short, democratic party represents the working class and republicans represent the wealthy! [em1]

Replying to [hawaiianguy]: Letter heads can never be replaced by E-mails. E-mails are just the facilitators for fast communications. But the letter head represents your company or firm. All the statutory obligations, whether busniess's or govt's can only be fulfilled on the letter heads with the original signatures and stamps.
