I am dealing in mainly small items... USB flash upto mobile phone and mp3/4 players.

I am currently looking for samples, and wondered if anyone has any idea how much it will cost to have them sent to me.

I am using China to UK as example because most of what I am looking for seems to be available.

Any ideas would be great... even price per kilogram.

thank you ,you are so kind .i am student  who study in uk .i ve got homework about the "set up a business "   now i a m looking for the price that i need to cost on shipping .but i have no idea.if i use the container how much per foot square .depends on how big is it ?and is it cacualate on weight as well or just cacualte on how big is it .my production is textile bedding fabric .

I would suggest if you can find a reliable local freight forwarder ,  shipping everything to him and make only one bill then ship to you would help you save a lot costs.

Shipping Rates for diffrent couriers will be vary, but  all the DHL,ups or ems services will be avaiable from the freight forwarder with a much cheaper price  than you try to find those major couriers directly.. Normally the first half kilo would be very expensive and the additional kilos would be a lot cheaper.

Reference for 1kgs to UK via DHL would be less than 30 USD.

Hello can any one help me please. I made a purchase with a company in china who agreed to send me my purchase by sea freight.

i am a small time business selling from home and estivals and dont have any agent or company.

I paid for the sea freight having agreed that i would collect the package from the port of arrival (Hull).

Now the seller is saying that i can not collect it personally as i can not clear it for customs. They are wanting the name of an agent or company which i dont have.

I have asked the seller to simply ship the package to my home address but we seem to be talking at cross purposes becuase of the language difference.

I dont understand what the problem is and why the seller can not just ship the package to the UK.

i am worried as i have already sent the payment and dont know how best to deal with the situation.

I would be grateful for any advice anyone could give me please.

sorry for late reply. Thank you for your reply and advice.

I did manage to sort out the problem eventually. I was put in touch with a frieght forwarding company in Manchester who contacted the seller and manage to have my package shipped over to my home address.

The seller for some unknown reason said it was $200 dollers from her city in China to the port in China and then expected me to pay the customs in China before the package was shipped. The freight forwarders were incredibly helpful and actually got the seller to pay the customs in China out of the $200 i had already paid.

Once the package had arrived in the UK it simply cost me £100 for customs/clearance and shipping to my home address
