My father fought in World War Two. And he must have been a real hero -- he has a whole box full of medals. But he's a tight-lipped man who never talks about what he did to earn them.

Mary is very open with me about almost everything. Every day she tells me all sorts of things that happens at school. But lately she's been so tight-lipped about her boyfriend Jack. If I ask too many questions she gets angry.[em3][em21]

the incident apparently become a permanent image on someone's head.

shocking the consciousness of a thought. from long term act like during a war to a speed light act, like almost hit by a truck when crossing the street.

there are memories, unlikely bad memories coloring the whole screen of one's whole memories. sorrow, death, horror, disappointment, etc. the emotion is bigger he feels than he can say it by words.
