Replying to [Admin]:
Shipper sends booking note to shipping company / forwarder with details of shipper, consignee, notify party, quantities and descriptions of goods, intended vessel all filled up for the booking of space of a particular vessel.
Upon receipt of booking note, shipping company / forwarder sends shipping order to shipper confirming their booking. With shipping order, shipper could arrange loading of goods and forward them to the place as assigned by shipping company / forwarder, like container port or forwarder's godown.
Shipper will receive a mate's receipt as an acknowledement of cargo receipt after they forward the goods to shipping company / forwarder. The possessor of the mate's receipt is entitled to the bill of lading, in exchange for that receipt.
