Yesterday while I was talking with a friend in China, I was surprised to hear the melody of the Happy Birthday Song that I grew up with in the background.

SOL SOL LA SOL do SI... SOL SOL LA SOL re do.

SOL SOL sol mi do SI LA... fa fa mi do re do.
Gift I was wondering how many languages sing this same melody for the kiddies?

All my grandkids (no exception) enjoy whatever could be interpreted as "something mischievous", so I'm sure they would love it. Man, I can't even imagine what would happen if they were all together (though they are "dog paws" like me and therefore always in "other" places, wherever that is). Their laughter would probably blast the roof off the house.

You want to sing it for us? There is a way, though I don't know exactly how it's done. Basically it's about storing the sound file in a "shared file" on your computer and making it available to search engines like emule and limewire.

I don't offer you my version because I don't want your ears to fall off. [em2] (That means, it sounds horrible)

Replying to [Professor Carl]: Dear Carl

In Peru, the Happy Birthday song has the same melody as the English version, te lyrics has been translated to Spanish, we say

Cumpleaños Feliz, te deseamos a ti
Cumpleaños felices te deseamos a ti

and after the birthday person blow the candle and make a wish. the chorus would say

Queremos que parta la torta, queremos que parta la torta
queremos que parta la torta, porque lo quiero comer.

which means:
We want you to slice the cake, we want you to slice the cake
we want you to slice the cake, because I want to eat it.

When I was in Sao Paulo, the Happy Birthday song also had the same melody however the message is more colorful;

Parabéns a você, Nesta data querida.
Muitas felicidades, Muitos anos de vida.

Hoje é dia de festa, Cantam as nossas almas.
Para o menino ( name ), Uma salva de palmas.
