Would you comply if your customers ask for a CIF or C&F terms?
Post 1 of 8
Dear Friends,

i am wondering if any one of you would comply if your customers ask for a CIF or C&F terms?

i mean in some circumstances, CIF or C&F terms would put suppliers in a very disadvantageous position. For example, in order to import the goods in some countries, e.g. China or some African countries, the tax would be very complicated and you have lots of procedures to be taken before you can get your goods delivered to your clients' countries. However, even you lower the price of your goods to the very margin, your customers still insist those trade terms in order to get out from the troublesome procedures....

Would you still comply? no matter whether you can earn a lot or just little in this order?

Please suggest!

As a reminder, you will be easily got into troubles since in some countries, the tax is so complicated that you cannot imagine.......and the stoppage of the goods in the Customs is very common...would you still bear the risk?

Thank you very much for your opinion.

Well..for me, personally i prefer C&F more than CIF, if i must choose one between the two.

Replying to [honindco]:Always it 's based on the value of the goods.
If the goods only value USD4000, the freight need USD3000.I think that the supplier will consider it carefully.

But normally we can accpet CIF&CNF.
