Replying to [Fei Wong]: Yes, in fact. I only ask courier charge payable by the consignee. And some real buyers would agree to get the sample by collected. And sometimes, the buyer agree to pay the courier charge by collected courier charge but I couldn't find a collected service courier agent, I would send them at my account. I think they are serious that moment and worth sending them sample.

Replying to [Egernia]: Yes, I understand your standpoint. There are some very powerful buyers who would not pay the sample charge. And I think sellers have more cost risks and profit possibility on these kind of potential buyers. That's those buyers like collecting much informations and samples and then make comparing. How should explain? Large paying out, huge income?

Replying to [Satani]:Yes, I think in most instance, serious buyer would like pay the freight or courier charge, and sellers would like give the sample itself by free. Both want to get future profit. I send sample at my cost sometimes if I judged the buyer really will buyer my products when they see the sample quality is acceptable. But unfortunately I failt sometions. They got my sample by free and confirm the quality is quite good, but they begin to further discuss the payment terms or price which they had confimed with me before. Anyway I hope both buyer and seller can have a very good coperation in the continous communication.

well as a byer i recive many samples from my suplliers everywhere in he world
if u recive a sample it doesent mean that you will order emmediately
u must test a sanple if its good quality or not than you purchase a order
so i think that its not fair to pay for a sample bcause thats free everywhere in a world

Basically giving samples are never a policy from my company. But we do give samples if the postage is paid for.
There are a few strategies that I have usually adopted.
If the samples are expensive. We adopt the policy that the Potential Buyer has to purchase the samples at wholesale price so that they can do market testing. and we can paid for their market testing upon their first order of a container.
Or
If the samples are inexpensive, we require the Potential Buyer to pay for the postage. Or they can personally come over to my location to collect the samples. We never ever give free samples. unless we are begging pple to purchase our products.
And Our strategy is to make the product appealing to the market, and give the Buyer the urgency to purchase some samples. and do market testing.

Loo you are correct. We are a womens Swimwear design house for designer labels. Everytime we get a call for free design samples sent by courier we find that to be a hoax buyer. These same people do not want to pay for the postage / courier. They always say they want multiple samples when one will suffice.
It has got to the stage that no matter the size or standing of the company they pay for everything including brochures and we refund on first order.
We also say they must pay up on proforma invoice for goods for the first three orders.
We believe that if a company cannot afford to pay for samples under these conditions then we would rather not have the business.
