Those paying sample fee are the serious buyers
Post 1 of 70
In my practice, I sent samples sometimes by free and and sometimes by charge. And I found those paying the sample led me the purchase order mostly, however those I gave free sample sometimes just no any reply. So I understand those whould pay the sample are the serious buyers and those would not pay the sample sometimes just wanted to collect the source.

Is there any friend experienced same story? Could you agree with me?

Both sides are worth the try and mind you due diligence is dual responsibilty. However, in as much as business is based on trust, companies may stick to thier various policies. As for my company, FRONTIERS, we seek for free samples to test the market feeling also when samples are subject to analysis and registration/approval by Nigeria's NAFDAC (regulatory agency )before importation.  Gives us a trial if you are in Energy Drinks and other fast moving products.

Madam,

Got to see your topic.I am completely in line with your's view. There are a lot of so called interested buyers(almost everywhere in every country)who will show a great interest in whatever products, you may be dealing with telling you that your's products have a great market in their's country. So please samples to evaluate the quality. They will be asking for free samples. The only business of these types of persons is to collect free whatever they can and then sell them in their local market.Good business without any investments.

On the other hand, those who pays for both the samples and the shipping charges for sending the samples are more genuinely interested in the items you may be dealing with.

We have learnt the hard way.

Regards.

Hello,

You pose an interesting scenario. We struggle with this daily, however, I believed up to this point that samples should be provided free until I saw how much money was being spent on samples per month. For intl shipping of samples, the price can range from $50 to $100 and usually, we include up to $50 dollars in free samples.

We also spend several hundred dollars and perform due diligence on every international client we do business with. We have found this to be the safest way to avoid the growing number of scams. In addition, we have on staff in those countries that we do business with. It is important to know your customers and be able to communicated.

Bottom line, we provide a certain number of samples, other samples need to be purchased if more are requested. This however, varies if they are a good customer, then
this is waived as the order would outweigh the costs of the sample.

If the sample after verified by myself with long and tedious communicate with the supplier, and it is preliminery consider worth to trial to pay for cost of sample, freight, and time spent for doing is of very costly to do all just for a sample. If the sample received do not meet buyer expectation, it will be of great loss in term of money, time and energy to deal with just a sample do not meet your expectation. This is from my experience point of view as a buyer to buy sample for evaluation before quantity order.

To be frank, of many instances, my experience made in China products are of lower quality for many reasons, if you could get 60% satisfactory, it is consider worth more than enough for what you pay for your sample cost and time spent. Not to mention at risk to be scammed after paid without anything received or received something not what you ordered.

If the supplier confidence enough on its products, after few communications with the interested buyers, verified they are real buyers, it is good for suppliers to pay for samples sent to buyer will be at ease to work on the samples, buyers  without waste time and money will be very liable to work samples for quantity order. Right ? Of course there will people like to get free samples at all time, sellers need to carry out their due diligence at all time too !!!

Dear Sellers, With due respect for the job you do, let me nevertherless remind you that you are just as much interested in getting new customers as we buyers are willing to find a reliable supplier/manufacturer. So the effort must be mutual. Each time we're looking for a new supplier, we're doing an extensive research and contact quite a few companies at a time. As you understand, their prices/offers/product features and quality differ, which cannot always be recognized on the Internet. Anyway, a responsible buyer will never purchase something never seen and tested in real, that is utterly unprofessional. That's why we eventually have to ask for samples, if only we cannot come and see the factory and products on site. We always offer to cover the transportation fee as well as to pay for more expensive items. However, 80% of the numerous samples we receive from different suppliers do not comply with our quality requirements. And we get lots of different samples from different suppliers, in order to select the right ones (some of them require laboratory testing). Isn't it a professional approach? In the end, there is one or two factories we choose - for their quality, professionalism and co-operative attitude. So if you get no response from a potential buyer, maybe the reason is the poor quality you offer, or your unfelxible approach that makes people think you'll be hard to deal with. We're happy we've found a few great partners in China, but there are so many more suppliers who still need improvement and are not competitive. Be honest to yourself and your partners, then providing samples will not be an issue.
