The Lost of Original Food
Post 1 of 20
Dear Friends,

Recently i have found a quite disappointing stuff.....it seems that we have lost our 'original food'....i have bought some fruits recently including some famous Sunkists oranges.......

unfortunately they do not taste like Oranges.....it tastes like a mixture of oranges and grapefruits......and i have also bought some pears which taste absolutely like an apple.......

what is happening to the world.........where can i find the original tasted food?

Have you encountered such things?

Replying to [honindco]: you should find the right supplier.
My suggestion is investigate first, you can go to the original place to see if the goods you are going to buy is what you want. Now fake products is travelled all over the world, may be your orange is traded by many hand and it is not really from the place of origin.

Sorry if I sound like a pessimist, but maybe it's time for us to build our own little greenhouse in the backyard...

i guess you do not want others to offer a good idear about how to bought good fruit. you hope us to look important the living circustance, right?
people has used the advanced technical to change the original appearance or inside and want to got high parise.( in fact they have got it alrady).
and human has called it is PROGRESS.
so sometimes we can't see the initially, some familiar things become strange to us.

As "honindco" lately brought up the subject of GM food, I guess this topic is somehow related to that. It's not just that fruits taste different (if you go to other countries you'll find that quite often), but the reason for that.

Therefore, with a look at "radish", I would say, if you can't put your greenhouse in a backyard because there is none, perhpas you have a flat roof. Be innovative, but the idea of keeping your produce free of genetical contamination is not absurd at all. The altered flavor honindco noticed tells us how urgent and important it is.

Fortunately for me I can still enjoy real fresh fruits that's left to grow practically by itself in the wild. A couple of acres of fruit plantation situated away from home on another plot, not a commercial venture, just a private land. No chemicals, no insecticides and what have you.

But still I guess the days are numbered because am not so sure the rain's not 'chemically' altered nowadays.

I still go to supermarkets though occassionally as it's convenient, but I do try to avoid all these strange-tasting 'fruits', especially the imported ones. Forget the shapes and colours of the modern fruits which can be deceptive, you know the original and real ones taste... well, so original... [em10]
