Replying to [Admin]: The Manufacturer is always responsible for the product that they manufacture. The distributor just acts as a middle man to introduce and sell the products.
As such if a product (electric/electronic) is faulty, then usually the customer will go directly to the manufacturer to lodge a complaint or get it replaced.
If an FMCG has gone bad, the vendor (distributor) should replace it for you and then take up the matter with the manufacturer.

Hence, the manufacturer is responsible for the products that it produces.

It is always advisable to get a written and well documented Guarranty/warranty from the distributor and backed up by the Manufacturer.
You buy expensive merchandise and god forbids if something goes wrong and your Guarranty is not well documented you will lose lot of money.

Principal, who is manufacturer, OR Importer, who has imported the products, will be always responsible for the products sold by distributor.

Distributor is always following advise, information received by him.

Replying to [Admin]: definately a manufacturer is responsible for it.......distributor is only the second source to recall the warrenty......distributor is an organization/person only work for such company on some contract basis and on some terms and conditions with that company.......... but manufacturer is responsible for any warrenty recall (if there is a warrenty for such product)......

Depending where your manufacturer is located... we deal with Asian manufacturers, and we build a contingency in to our products. It is essential that you keep all proper documentation from the minute it leaves the manufacturer and arrives to your door. Having sufficient insurance is critical. Untill you have established a great relationship with your manufacturer through time and volume it can be muddy waters, and warranty issues may be left on the distributor to be responsible for. Make sure you perform a thorough 'due diligence'. [em20]

Replying to [Admin]:by the local market selling the distributer he give the warranty,specialy for the retail selling.but for the whole sale and for the export selling is the factory he can only give the warranty or he give 1 to 2% free spare parts,to covering the warranty.
but almost chinese factory not giving warranty for there products,they added 1% free parts,.only.because the china factory owner's also they are not trusting there products i think,..that is why they not give warranty in the outside china sale..

Replying to [Admin] This is a hot debate.
I think we should specify the laws. The distributor has to keep in mind that manufactuer should always give him a warranty for products there is a comerical warranty . I think we should have both commercial and manfuacturing warranty. This should be done by the inventor and design that the product is safe and gurantee the the innovative product is of no harm to consumers
