The problem of suppliers from China?
Post 32 of 209
Replying to [Admin]as a small entity i do not have the need for huge orders however i have found that most companies that i deal with are more than happy to deal with my little orders.
most are willing to sustain a healthy business relationship as one day i may put in that big order but more importantly most of them wish to have a friendship as well as business.
i have found foremostly that with the apparent language barriers it is important to keep things simple.
secondly, being polite and not pushy usually enables me to purchase small orders even though they really want the big one.
i was unsure about the western union thing at first but as a rule if it feels right do it.most of my transactions occur this way
i cant wait until i get a chance to go to meet my suppliers and friends that help me make money in my home.
the biggest problem is the way we expect them to do business is not how they do things, but in time surely it will be more closer to meet everyones cultural differences.
thats my babble, generally i have had an enjoyable experience dealing with chinese manufacturers and suppliers

Hi: We have done business in China for many years, and have manged to make fair profits from the experience, but could be making a lot more money if the quality was better and if the shipments arrived on time as promised, Many Chinese companies will put absolute junk products in a box and ship it. Then they will never accept any responsibility for their poor quality, or mistakes. Many companies will never bother to answer you again. They will steal your customers and allow them to go around you. We have lost millions of dollars in future business because of these tactics. You absolutely cannot give 99% of Chinese companies your customers names! If you do, you lose the customer! The Chinese suppliers act like the world is a bottomless pit of customers! We have only found two solid suppliers in 12 years! There are virtually no business ethics in China. Never have I been lied to so often by so many people. We had two offices set up in China and had to close them because our employees stole millions in orders from us and went into business for themselves. All employees there do it. It is really not fair to the honest companies we deal with and these tactics will eventually ruin the China trade for everyone. You cannot depend on the law enforcement people there to help you either. If you send a new product there to be manufactured you will soon find that they have stolen your idea and have a hundred companies copying it. Contracts and leagal paperwork mean notheing there. We are gradually changing over to India and manufacturing our own products in the USA. That is why we have opened up an office in India. We find the business climate much more ethical. We hope to eventually bring all manufacturing of our products back to the USA.
I also do not like the idea of sending money to a country that is working against us in the diplomatic world and meddling in South American and Middle Eastern matters! It just doesn't make sense!

Most companies open their doors for business and the biggest failure of international business is communication, understanding and bad planning. There are many export companies in China now but the staff are lazy and simply use babelfish for translation leading to major confusion. So, try and find someone you can communicate with. Understand your supplier by ensuring he can make a profit. Make sure you leave enough time to create a new sample, market it and place the order. Don't rush your supplier or you'll get crap.

Hi,
You might want to read my blog 'Can anyone recommend a true Asian Supplier'.
I find it very interesting you posted this topic because Im looking to get people like you not only to say youve had good experiences, but to recommend the companies that you successfully do business with in those regions.
Would tell us who these good companies are? If you can do that, Im sure the whole community will benefit and the number of messages about Chinese scammers etc will diminish.

Replying to [Admin]:When speaking to a supplier via TradeManager asked to place money in a private account not a company account.

Replying to [Admin]:I think the major hurdle is communication.
Secondly they lack the main hospitality. some times they are unable to interpret buyer requirement. and sometimes Over reactive.
Quality I donot see any problem as they are offering prices comparable, as the customer always get his value for money.

So I think if they overcome these two problems, there is no other point keep them away from winning the hearts of their customers.

Replying to [Admin]:we have a range of things that we purchase.
my wife gets jewellery and gifts for her market stall and i have a network of people that enjoy a wide range of new technology and electronic devices that the chinese are manufacturing.
i believe that being small does have its advantages but of course there are the opposite at times when it comes to buying power.
it is quite astonishing to see what prices are retailing for when one knows what they can be purchased for.
we live by the robin hood theory lol.
if we buy cheap then we can sell cheap so our customers get a good deal and we are able to grow our business.
it really is a great feeling to be able to see the kid down the road who has only his mothers income be able to have a nice well made electronic device, that better off kids parents pay hundreds for but his mum can get for a fraction of that.
and for that i can only thank my wonderful suppliers in china who do there best to help me.
p.s:another thing i like to do is send my suppliers a little something from my country as a token gesture for their hard work.
