What is your favourite day of the year and why?

Of the 365 days in a year, which one is your favourite? Is it your birthday? Or another person's birthday? Was it yesterday or the day you met your spouse or partner? No need to think too hard. Write a few sentences about why it is your favourite day.
For me my favourite day is today. Making each day my favourite day is enough reason for me to make it the best it could be.

Well for me 24th Jun is the special day as the same is Date of birth of my Mother, She is my only roll model in the world, not only she had given me the birth, she is very strong woman, because when I was in 5th std. my father expired and every relatve suggested my mother for a scond marriege and not worry for her three children, you can understand that in India, during 87-88 working woman was not at all accepted in the society. She was also young i.e. later twenties. then to she fought with the society and made us to face the world.

Many thanks, Deepali for your beautifully written reply. Great to learn more about you and your Mom. I guess it's a coincidence that you wrote that as I am visiting my own Mom here in Seattle. We both have strong mothers, women of substance as I would call them.
