Many members in our forums have expressed concerns about potential fraud traps. Some members believe that asking potential customers to pay for samples is a good way to prevent fraudulent activity.

However, other members claim that, due to intense competition, free samples are an invaluable way to attract potential customers. What do you think?

Should samples be free or not?

Free sample is ok
why? my mean for free sample is that the item is samll and do not need much cost. so why do send the sample to your customers? Even he need by himeself, but it is also not problem, because your products someone likes it,and take it as a present to the people who need, that is ok.[em7]

But for high cost products,i think that will no free sample.[em10],Becasue if someone really need your products,he won't care the fee of it.He needs it to test whether it is good or not. That's the real customer.

For example, our products are car rearview system and the car camera etc, those electronic products need the cost, and we could not send them free, but we could supply it based on cost price for the first needed customers

Hey, Hal2040.
It seems that you're really not a good dealer. To be a good dealer, you need not only to know how to market, but also need to know why your supplier offer such service.

Let me show you the reason why sample cost is higher than bulk price. You should have a common sense that factory process a bulk order by purchasing material in bulk, producing on efficient line to ensure low cost. But they make sample only by handiwork, small quantity of material purchase which cost relatively much higher... Thus, the sample cost is surely much higher than bulk unit.

Any more question?

Replying to [Admin]:It is not necessary to sent the samples for free in the first time, but it is necessary to sent for free for creditable customers later.

Yes, I am agree with you that never send samples free of cost. I think that best way is supplier give the 1-2 free samples to buyers, if he is ready to pay the freight cost.

I am a buyer, a distributor, a reseller, in the US.
I am willing to pay for everything that costs to bring a sample to me.
I always ask for the best sample at the highest costs possible.
(So that I can judge the companies' products at lower costs.)
Three times from 3 different sellers in China who has websites sent
me the samples that could be sold in my city at lower costs.
How can I do business with these sellers?
They harm not only my business but other Chinese sellers as well.
Does Chinese government do anything to prevent that from happening?

I don't think seller send samples for free, when a sample worths
about thousand US dollars, but when a buyer risks his thousand
dollars, you need to trust him, and do business with him.

I voted for charge payment for sample ,

many peoples open account' s with courier services like as DHL / FEDEX etc and then search big supplier for realated products , these peoples show themself as a very big distributer of realated products and tells you that if the peoples of there group will like the sample then it can be a very big business opportunity for you ,
But after getting free sample they will never reply even your emails .

so please be carefull . [em19]
