Replying to [Admin]:A Distributor is an entity that is under contract to distribute directly from the manufacture for a specific large area networks (country) to entities within the contract specified area. (E.g. Authorize Sony distributor in the USA is Ingram Micro that distributes to wholesalers) in modern day commerce most distributors? are under contracts by specified countries.
A wholesaler is an entity that buys from the distributor and sells to smaller entities in any area. (Because storefronts and small business can not buy at a large level they are require to purchasing goods from a distributor. (Wholesalers brake down the buying volume for such clients) in modern day commerce most wholesalers are allowed to export small quantities to most global location.
An Agent represents the manufacture for anyone within specified contracts from the manufacture. (Agents contracts with the manufacture allows what a distributor or wholesaler is not allowed to do by allowing OEM/ODM buyers and can nogiate distribution selling rights within contract specified areas)
Agents are allowed to conduct business e.g. receive payments; negotiate contracts, etc, as stated within their contract, on behalf of the manufacture. Please note an Agent role may differ depending on the contract by the manufacture.

Replying to [Admin]: Distributor is the person who keeps the stock in bulk of a company's product for one particular region.

Wholesaler is the person who takes the product from the distributor in some agreed quantity & also he keeps the other brand products in his shop.

Agent is the person who does not keep any stock . He is only the sales person who gets the commission for his job.

Distributor distributor is the middleman between the manufacturer and retailer. After a product is manufactured by a supplier/factory, it is typically stored in the distributor's warehouse. The product is then sold to retailers. Distributor works on behalf of manufacturers to retailers.

Wholeseller : Is a person who gets the stock from the different manufacturers and sells to retailers in bulk.

Agent :Works on Comissions or as a mediator and gets his profit..

Replying to [Admin]: I have basically answered this in another post on this board but would like to say that Agents are alive and well and are not dying off. Agents within their known fields of expertise most definetly have an advantage as they have done business with small and large manufacturers. In many occassions an agent will be able to deliver a price to the buyer that they could not negotiate themselves and still absorb the fee. This is due in part to the agent qualifying the buyer as a return buyer for ever increasing order sizes. The sale of the smaller MOQ is due to the relationship the agent has with the manufacturing facility. I would further state that an agent has far more resources in qualifying potential suppliers than any buyer could imagine due to the cost of the resources. You can buy many reports from the likes of UK data, DNB, Hoovers for large fee's and the like but any Agent worth employing can turn information on a potential supplier in minutes not days or weeks. Further if your buying agent does not guarnatee that they will supply you with a quality manufacturer for your products and insure you from loss of funds pertaining to the deal they are not an Agent but merely a broker in which they use your money less usually a per piece cost to obtain the products from a manufacturer.

Best regards,
Ranger

If you let me explain these with a roleplay

Distributor : is the farmer who gets milk from the cow(manufacturer) and sells the milk in little amounts(such as bottles etc) by going citizens' houses,we can say door selling.

Wholesaler: is another farmer who prefers to sell the milk he gets from his cow by in large amounts to such as milk factories.

Agent: is just a man from the town and he just knows the farmer and he sells the milk farmer gets from the cow, to anyone that he finds with a small profit.
