Replying to [Admin]: distributor is an organization/person who directly contract with respected firms to distribute their products as their needs.........
there are several roles you can consider about an agent........in my thoughts agent is a person who search different markets for such company's product as per thier requirement or importers, buyers, investors around the globe and as per their requirement......they are basically paying agents.....
as far as concerned about wholesaler........its a person/organization who is just after distributor who sell the products of such company on lower prices as compare to retailers and wholesalers mostly sale the products to retailers and some of the time to end users also.......but their prices are much lower as far as compare to retailers.......they basically play role as a point for product selling on a cheap rates as comapre to retailers......where mostly end users purchase the products to retailers (including the benifits of retailers) with bit higher rates compare to wholesalers.....

The procedure starts from Agent > Distributor > Wholesaler.
Let me start with a wholesaler. The wholesaler?s duty to sell in large amounts and it doesn?t differ for him to sell what. The quantity is important for him.
A distributor has a programmed focus on some special parts and products. He tries to invest his money on special products which he is going to work on. The distributor sells his products and goods to wholesalers.
An agent?s most important difference with the other two is that it doesn?t face to the market. It tries to study the need of the market and provide the market as it deserves.

Replying to [Admin]:
The distributor, wholesaler and agent operate in three different levels of the selling chain. A distributor deals directly with the manufacturer of the product, either exclusively for an area or hand in hand with other distributors. Wholesalers are customers of the distributors, and are suppliers or employers of the agents. The agents are individuals who either work directly for the wholesalers, or are hired on a commision basis to sell directly to the retailers and sometimes even to the end consumers.
In terms of volume of operations, the distributors are usually bigger in scale than the wholesalers, who are in turn bigger than the agents.
All of them play vital role in building a brand or company's business volume, and should each be committed towards the same goal for the company or brand to succeed.

Replying to [Admin]:Distributor act as intermediaries between manufacturers and retailers. They maintain a warehouse of merchandise, which is often purchased from many different manufacturers and then is sold (or distributed) among various retailers. By buying through a distributor, a retailer can have the advantage of one-stop shopping, rather than having to make individual stock purchases from each of the different manufacturers
Wholesaler or middleman who sells mainly to retailers, Jobbers, other merchants, and industrial, commercial, and institutional users as distinguished from consumers.
Agent: Organization or individual authorized to operate on behalf of another organization in exchange for a fee or commission according to sales or business transaction made
