Follower or Trend Setter?
Post 1 of 4
Hi to everyone,

I would like to know:

Do you wait for a trend to start, and see what is going to be the hot saling item and follow that?

Or

Do you start your own trend, experimenting new items, and testing them out?

In any case, whatever step you take, what is the final key for you to procceed with any item and launch it into the market, what you think you can achieve, and why you think the particular item will run, because you think so, or the market says so?

you need to have a wide know how of products and about the market in those area's, if you see new products and designs made in some factories you can see if these would fit into the market and hit good sales, sure you can use companies to tell you this information but if you have the eye and the background you know.

Not all products i have bought have been great sellers, but each time we learn, in most times you would see what you feel can be a great seller while on your visits or travel, keep you eyes open, if the end customer as a need for a product they would buy it. [em19]

Replying to [Strongman Products]: Thanks for your view point. But here comes the point, its obviouse that to start up anything needs time and money, but what are ways you can cut down on that, what helps you use to get established, other then experience?

This is why the big companies use high cost sales marketing to hit their products, as for small companies you have to use other ways to promote your products like Ebay and your wb site, search engines, local adverts, contact trade companies that may be in this market.

Sure all takes time and hard work, but you need to understand the products and the market and the best way to deal with this all with the cash flow you have ready for this set up, like new design products would need much higher format of adverts placed and to get this product known to your customers.

You have local sales, trade sales, high street stores, export sales, and internet.
