Hi there,

I see you are forgeting what trading means,"BARGAINING". Thats what trading is all about, so you have to get used to that.

Anyhow, I believe i see the problem here, you have quoted him your price, and so as he. But did you guys exchange samples????
Have you studied his market, who knows what quality is common in his Country or locallity. Most Suppliers forget to see why the customer might be asking for such ridiculous prices, maybe its the local market, what is maybe is a bad quality for you is good quality for the buyer. So you have to consider this factors.

In any case, for future you should just record your customer details from each country, that way you have a better understanding why they want a cheaper price and what quality they want.

Most customers, are copy cats, running around and try to sell a hot selling item in their locality, now this type usually don´t know anything about the product, they just talk price. So its your job to explain to them.

In any case, exchanging samples and knowing your market and the buyers market is essential to get your prices through.

HiReplying to [Jingxia shi]:
Hi Jingxia shi.

I understand how you feel.

I wonder why dont companies/importers do what I have seen other companies in the USA do.

Now, I have no affiliation with this website I am only using this link to show you how Advertising Promotional Companies show their BEST offer on their websites, their minimums, etc.

http://www.rushimprint.com/view_product.php?catID=410&productID=606

Again. I have NO affiliation with this site. I do not want anyone thinking I am advertising I found this site on Google and using it to show my exact point.

This site clearly shows their products, colors, sizes, quantity, minimums, etcetera. They will not haggle over prices. They Give their BEST prices and show you their quality, benefits to your customer, and why you should buy from them. I would love to see more overseas companies have a site that shows me online what I will get upfront. Use this site or any other as a learning tool. Give the information people are looking for upfront and you will not have to answer so many inquirys from customers who are just looking and may not want to buy.

Please put a NEWSLETTER on your page to tell them about specials that will be come to their email address later.

Give them something free for signing up. Give them a free report(example: 1 page report how to do-

http://resources.alibaba.com/article/25701/Shipping_Estimate_A_guide_for_Wholesalers_and_Importers.htm

) Offer this free report so they will signup for your newsletter. Offer ANY free report that will give them more information on how to do business with Your company/China.

Get their email address so you can continue to tell them about your business and how your products are quality products and they will see you have the Best price.

Hope this helps. [em1]

[em20]you make a care consideration that who have did with you without bargained before. because in everyone's opionion ,who quote is not the best price ,you are sure the price is the best price when you want to your supplier quote to you ,everybody knows the price is including benefit ,you must to understand your customer marketing and the goods which is quoted by other supplier ,get more information about the goods as possible as you can ,then may be you will find that why the price is higher in your customer' s opionion.

1) make sure your customer is comparing apple to apple

2) If it is confirmed the same thing they are comparing, then just offer the best price you can.

3) If you lose it then most probably your competitor have a better supply chain and manufacturing capability that make their cost lower.

If number 3 is the case your sales dept have to compile all the data on why you can't close the sales base on pricing issue and present it to your higher management to make further decision

Replying to [Jingxia shi]: Lets not forget those companies quoting low price to get business then send customer high prices later on, or those just trying to cheat the customers money and not sell goods...

Buyers should be fully aware of prices before asking for quote or they are asking for a blanket quote from many suppliers (which is what Alibaba allows them to do), so in order for you to secure the business you need to first initiate prices comparable to others and work on quality and quantity issue later.

Know your market dont just go by what your GM tells you because you wont sell anything if he is way off base price compare to the competition.

I think you'd better have a compresive and clear idear about your competotor which can give you reference price,in addition, you have to make sure the profit percentage which account for your all cost ,including the material cost,labor-force and varied tax and other factors.what's more,if possible, you'd better ask the target price from your customer, then you can compromise with your quotation.
In conclusion, patiently and carefully get down to your seemingly boring work,in the end, you'll fruitful deserve something,I'm sure.
