Under this global cottage environment, there are so many things which sound funny, but actually happening everyday. For instance, materials for building also need to imported overseas, I just wonder is it really necessory to do so?

Replying to [ahoo]:if the price is more favorable it is ok but it is sounds impossible, hehe.
you said the building material,as you probable know the building material is not noly cement or brick but some other high tech products is also needed so it possible to import from abroad if they have.
The global market is just like a wholesale market, whose price is the most favorabe and the quality is in high rank then that is the first choice of the customer.

Well, like radish said, building material is not only cement and brick.

Best example in raw material is metal, its currently the base material for any building you want to build. China is importing so much currently from all around the world, but there is still a deficit.

Machinery and some hightech items count also to the building material. Specially, Building Insulations, Gl *, plastics for pipe fittings, etc.

Countless items, so its obviouse there is a need for importing, since every country has speciallized on a specific item, so its cheaper to exchange them, rather then invent them new.

If the materials are cheaper oversea why not? it will bring the cost down and eventually benefit the people. Unfortunately some countries like mine the government protect a small group of people who make the building material and all the citizen have to pay more

That is a very relative question. Most likely, your country has the resources to produce whatever material you want, but perhpas there is nobody who actually does that. In that case you would indeed have to import that material.

Replying to [ahoo]: It is not strange that our chinese, as a such a huge country, import construction materials abroad. the same situation is that Mr. Yuan Longpin help to overcome the famine, and we have alot of food exported now, while, every year, we would imported a lot of wheat, XO and so on.
i was told in a constuction material show, the price of an orginal Italy brass water faucet is almost 10 times higher that the same stly and material of chinese, despite of the high price, it is imported from that.
