Replying to [Ranger]: So far as I am aware, in India, now a days, PUF is being in use for room insulations particularly for cold storages, cabins etc. Though it is a bit expensive items and there fore only commecrcial establishments are going for this option

Also, some local available products are also used to insulate houses.

Based on offgassing from carpets, composite wood furniture and other materials in the home.do you think that there is a point to which any dwelling should not be entirely sealed?

I have read some articles on individuals going from great health to very bad health because they had moved into new housing.  In that when removed from the home ie hospital or anonther dwelling place the individual recovered, then when they returned they relapsed.  The conclusion of some of the investigating teams was that the house was to closed off to out side ventilation.  Just wondering what some people thoughts were on this.

Hello Ranger! Where I come from a structures ability to exchange interior and exterior gases and vapors is called breathing. Breathing is good for the structure as well as your health. Molds and gases dangerous to a persons health are more likely to build up in a house that does not have good ventilation. In addition it can lead to moisture build up and cause structural corrosion.

I am just wondering if you are researching for your own use?

What is the weather like? Rain fall? Sun UV? Winter? and what is the surface to be coated made out of?

Replying to [Ranger]:Have you know ICF block which is made by expanded polystyrene for house insultation? It is widely used in all over world these days.

ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) are stay-in-place forms manufactured using two panels density 21.5lb/cf expanded polystyrene held together by polypropylene webs, ABS inserts or EPS inserts.
The forms offer a " 5 in 1" system that provides structure, insulation, vapor barrier, sound barrier and exterior siding in one.

Methods of manufacturing: Molded raw beads through pressurized steam, injection molded webs

ICF offer the features which ensure exceptional quality as well reduce construction time and labour costs. ICF can withstand internal vibratiuon. ICF generates less than 1% construction waste.

APPLICATIONS. ICF can be used both below and above grade for single and multi-storey residential, commercial, institutional and industrial construction.

I am about to involve in the detailed ICF Block specification in physical test. However, here, can not attach it. If I write it all here, it is too much.

If any friend want it, just reply and I will send to your email box.
Thanks,
