A company phoned me from the UK.I would like to make sure that the address and the phone really belongs to that company.How can I verify and there a link where I can type the phone number to find all information about it like a telephone directory?

There is no reverse search facility offered in the UK.
Commercial sites like www.192.com have archived and current information available for queries but UK legislation prevents them from offering the option of searching by telephone number.

You should always try to get the company or tax registration number, and ofcourse the Telephone number. Specially for European and American companies.

Then you can go to the next step, now search for Chamber of commerce, and search for company registration number, there you will find out exactly if the company is real or not.

Then you can go to yellow pages or Telephone directory on the internet of the individual, search for the individual company you are searching for, or type in the number and see who it belongs to.

This usually helps me to find out who is real and who is not.

If you have a phone number beginning with +44 70 (71, 72, 73... etc.) it is a redirection service and you cannot trace the real phone number (preferred by scammers).
