Trading with Africa
Post 1 of 9
Hello,
Friend of mine hit a contact to a big company, which is dealing with mobile phones, DSL Internet modem etc. At present they have to sell about 80 000 pieces of modems and mobile phone, not used, but not the Top - latest models.

So we decided to find a client in Africa or some parts in Asia. It is very difficult to sell them to Europe now, so the price could be very well

Does somebody has such experience in trading with e.g. Africa? How to get into wholesaler which are dealing with such items?

I have heard that many African companies are not in good finance statement.

I know there are many different countries, with different business style...

Perhaps the good way is to use the Chinese middleman? You in China have a good business relations with Africa...

If anyone has a suggestion pls tell me...

Replying to [Brindow]: finding customers in Africa should not be an issue. There are many. But be aware of the payment terms. As with any other country, electronics are a prone to scams (NOT just in Africa! That can happen in any other country). So follow through with your normal business practice or consider getting an agent. We are conducting most of our deals over agents living in Africa and never had a problem - however, we also don't deal with electronics. [em2]

Just like dealing with any country it is best to find a trusted partner in the african country you wish to trade in then channel everything through them. They will handle customs and excise and payments for you.

Took us years to find the right people in africa. So stick with it.
