I think there have Pro's and Con's conception.

Email:Pro's--It is a way of polite to contact with your potential clients.
Con's--The first strange email could be concered Spam Mail.

Tel: Pro's--You should have excellent oral English, you can try.
Con's--Or, you would better do not try this way.

Depend on inquiry and type of business, you can go one way or other.

However normally email goes first than phone call :)

Replying to [everconn]: It is advisable to email your clients first since you may bother others with their work when you make a phone call directly.

I feel that if you call the client via Telephone first is not a good idea, the client or new buyer would be pushed to think quick, they dont know you and how can they deside the right way,

Maybe better to send you first communication via email and tell the client about you and the company and products or services you provide, with all contact details, then make a call to them after one week if no reply, this way you can tell them you have introduced your company to them last week and this is a follow up call, much better [em19]

Replying to [everconn]: for me. I prefer to contact the potential buyer at the very begain. Reason:
1. It is imexpensive.
2.Don't you think It is Plump when you call your potential buyer if he or she do not know the all cotext.
