Post 1 of 9
Dear All
A terrible earthquake has hit hard in the cities of Pisco, Ica, Chincha and Canete. The death toll is about 500 people, but the devastation is at the city level itself. 85% of the houses has collapsed or are badly damaged that has to be destroyed and rebuilt.
There is a fund-raising activity scheduled for this Saturday Aug 25 in New Jersey, where there are strong Peruvian commnity presence. For that mattrer the Peru Relief Fund has been formed to collect donations to be sent to Peruvian Red Cross and local institutions which provides valuable help to the people over there.
Please go to www.perurelieffund.org, to find out more about this tragedy. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

I don't get the motive of your posting on the Peru Earthquake.
Are you soliciting for donations or funds for the victims? Why are you doing this? Do you have license to raise funds, and do you have audits for the money collected?
If NO, then I suggest that you do not put the claims for donations in Alibaba Forum.

The Peru Relief Fund is a non-profit organization established by two serious peruvian institutions PAPANJ and PAPAC, plus the the two Peruvian consulate offices of NJ and NY. The Tax ID is for your reference Tax ID: 26-0744479, and has been incorporated in the state of NJ. I guess, this is the audit you wanted to know.
The reason I post it is to build awarenes of this tragedy and reach to the good souls for some cooperation. I was surprised to hear in the news quick replies from all over the world. Peru has received aid from Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Bolivia, Venezuela, China, Argentina, Colombia, USA, European Commuity, UK, and many mnore countries. So there are people out there that are willing to help when they see other people in dramatic situations.
I guess, you are reluctant to believe this is a serious organization, well I can not change that, I just will continue helping this cause, as we will do another event next Sept 15 in Woodridge, NJ.

Yes this is terrible shake and lasted for more than 2 minutes.
Luckily not too many casuakties, but the tragedy comes in the destruction of the city. Pisco, famous for its grapes and the Pisco spirit (similar to brandy) has 90% of the city destroyed, close to 200,000 are displaced living in tents and public places like stadiums, arenas, etc
The humanitarian aid from all over the world has reached most of the people and the reconstruction effort is about to start soon. It is reconforting to see people from all over the world were there to help with doctors, medicines, tents, food, clothing and all the needed resources to help the displaced and the victims.
Hope this people, devastated from the earthquake, could restore their family, faith and able to move on with their lives shortly.
