While on holiday, a Swiss man asks two locals for some directions.

'Entschuldigung, sprechen sie Deutsch?' he asks.

But the two locals look at him blankly.

'Excusez moi, parlez-vous Francais?'he tries again.

But the locals just continue to stare.

'Hablan ustedes Espanol?' Still nothing.

The Swiss tourist is very unimpressed and drives off.

'You know,' says one local to the other, 'we should really try to learn a foreign language:

'Why?' replied the other.

'He knew three and it didn't do him any good.’
