Traveling to China to visit suppliers....

I will soon be traveling to China to visit suppliers and their factories. Which town/city in China do you think has the most suppliers. I thought I might be able to save alot of time if I could find out where. I already have some suppliers I absoluely have to visit, but if I could find a city that had 100's of suppliers this would save time. This would enable me to look at their catalog for possible future purchases and to tour their factory.

To expand on what Fei Wong said, Chinese cities tend to focus on particular industry or product, thus means increased competition, economies of scale and a number of other benefits. So depending on what industry you are in, it should be relatively easy to visit all your relevant factories - once you get to the city that is - remember that many of these cities are hugh, but not neccesarily well connected to international airports.

which city you will visit,
you can drop by Yiwu City,
Actually Zhejiang Province is great sourcing
area for your entry.
And Yiwu City is the window for you to see
what variety of product are on display for everyday Show
in the wholesale and exportation market in this City...

Although many companies have the translators, but you will still have many problems in communicating with Chinese when you are in China. As most Chinese can't speak English.

Every city in China may have more than 100 suppliers for you in China, so first of all you have to tell us your detailed buying information. China is a manufacturing base for almost everything on the globe and each city may have their own edges in tech and management. For example, there are hundreds of fireworks manufacturers in Liuyang as it's the home of Fireworks on the globe. Lot of industry-clusters you can find when you're in China, say, Zhuji is the land for pearls and jewelery, Yiwu is famous for daily commodities, Dongguan is for furniture, Chaozhou is for ceramic products, Wenzhou is for leather shoes, Shenzhen is for electronic products, Xuchang is the home for wigs, Changsha is for heavy machines etc.
Have a market survey before your departure to China and then you can save more cost and time!

I am working in ningbo, it's a fast-developing city, and all type of factories here.
If you want to visit china, do not forget ningbo, zhejiang province near shanghai, so called "the spare garden of shanghai ".
