When we send out samples to potential customers, should we ask them to pay for the freight cost?

adding to grigo's answer (which is the best one).... If a customer is SERIOUS then they will be willing to pay sample freight charges........ Offer them a refund once they place an order... make sure you confirm this with your boss before offering though!

There are too many "sample hunters" out there these days for suppliers to have to take on the cost of freight charges for samples.

Replying to [Foow]: Thanks for all your input. I think it's a good suggestion that I should charge them and then reimburse them for their first order. But I believe it's also a case-by-case basis. There are some companies who "die die" also don't want to pay for ANYTHING! Of course, those are the "cheap-skates" ones. [em2]
