Replying to [Geoffreygao]:

"Particle" just means a very small piece of any material. When customers talk about "particle board", they mean a board (typically 1.22 meters by 2.44 meters, of varying thickness) made of wood particles.

These wood particles are normally the size of wood saw dust. They are mixed with some kind of glue and then shaped and pressed to become boards.

A lot of modern furniture is made of this material, though it most of the times has a "veneer" - some kind of covering that makes it look like normal wood.

Well, the bamboo board you are selling is one kind of MDF, and "PB" stands for "particle board".

Replying to [germex]: Yes. bamboo veneer is used as face material for MDF, I think it also can used for PB, or other carrier board. Is it right?

Replying to [Geoffreygao]:

Yes, it can be used for this purpose. In fact, particle boards etc. almost "cry" for a veneer, for example the one your company is producing.

Particle board is the similar with the MDF which also the material for the furniture. Just it's density poor than MDF.

By the way, the "MD" in "MDF" part stands for "medium density". As you are in the furniture business, do you know if there is also a "HD" (high density) version? Never seen that.

     May I ...allow me

As  Been told by Adimex, Germex, YH furni,

Particle Board  is another Industrial wooden Board,  made by :

Wooden-chips, wooden grain , wooden tissue of planner scraps

     (* correction = not saw dust )

It been pressed and blended with adhesive paste but as the chips, shreded, tissues

and  grains  are rough and  not same metrics,  it would spare the space / big pores in it

if you cut it / saw it  you can see that the edge surface is many pores /wholes ...

this particle board categorize as soft board most of it  made in thickness of  15 -18 - 20 mm

thinner or less  than this will not  effective ( too soft ) .

refer to veneer laminate at surface, it is optional :  can be by Textured wood veneer,

synthetic vinyl, tacon sheet, duropal sheet,  harflex , plywood,  even Wall paper vinyl from

PE, PVC, etc  with printing of wood line on it as if  wooden veneer ones.

While  Medium Density Fiber ,  made from wooden Pulp.and  saw and sanding dust,

blended with adhesive and heavy press ( Vacuum air press, hydraulic ) to get a really

massive and compact one to perform a medium density board. merely no pores & grain.

that is why it can made in  thickness start from  5 mm , 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm

18 mm , 20 mm, 25 mm, 28 mm  to meet the need.

the good MDF will not piling out and swelling when it been drip into water a whole night.

the hints is the Glue/adhesive quality.

Whilst the High density (hard Board) is made by very soft dust /powder, aprox 350-450 mecs

and be screened into a mild pulp, then  vacuum press it with a hi-Q adhesive.

It ever been used in 1970's  as  the TV case and or partition/divider for house built. either

in One face or 2 face fine sanded ( 600 mecs) avialable in 2 mm up to 5 mm thickness.

Others boards to knows : Plywood, Multiplex, Block board, with various Veneer on it.
