hello to all of you,
1.do I have to make the SGS Inspection be as a clause in the L/C or it is enough to be mentioned in the Contract?
2. original copy of the commercial invoice and certificate of origin must be legalized by the chamber of commerce at the supplier country or not ?
thanks for a fast reply

Hi!
1/ All this is depending on Your relations with the seller.
If You're sure about/trust him then only in contract is Ok.
But to be 100% sure that SGS inspection is performed and figures found are in accordance with terms of Your contract then, of course, it is better to put one more document in LC, i.s. SGS certificate:
+ INSPECTION CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY SGS CONFIRMING PERFORMANCE OF THE INSPECTION OF THE GOODS AND EVIDENCING THAT:
A) GOODS HAVE BEEN ARRIVED/SHIPPED IN APPARENTLY GOOD CONDITIONS
B) QUALITY OF THE GOODS IS IN CONFORMITY WITH REQUIREMENTS STATED IN THE CONTRACT # _______ DD _______
C) PACKING OF THE GOODS IS SUITABLE FOR TRANSPORTATION BY SEA/AIR/LAND
Above is just an example.
You may put all those points which are required by your contract and wich to be inspected during inspection.
But be carefull and do not state just like "SGS Inspection certificate".
You should exactly state what to be the content of this certificate and what to be evidenced in it.
Otherwise any inspection certificate issued by SGS will be acceptable under LC, even if their findings will be unsatisfactory.
The banks are dealing only with docs and not with the goods and this is not their care whether the content of document is Ok or not (if there is no exact requirement in LC).
2/ As for legalization You should check this with the rules of country of import.
If there is no necessity to provide authorities with legalized invoice and C/O then it is better not to make difficulties to the Seller.
It may be done not only in the country of supplier.
But by whom they to be legalized?
All this the Seller should know in advance in order to check the possibility to do this.
Good luck.

Excellent!
As SGS inspection, some people in SGS are not professional, they do not have any basic knowledge of them, like us, our product is nylon 6 & 66 yarn & nylon tire cord fabric, it looks more difficult for them.
As a result, they just inspect the quantity, the surface problem of these products, if there is some quality problem, they never know.
What is more, about test sheet, as a matter of fact, we can change it by ourselves without any problem.
How inspection company works! I DO NOT KNOW AT LEAST!

Replying to [Ted Wang]:in some country, SGS certificate is legally required as a document for customs declaration. But to be honest, it is really a troublesome to do it in China, waste seller a lot of time.
