What do you think if the customer are always taken your sample to another supplier ?
Post 1 of 22
We have worked with a customer for over than 2 yrs.
but we are found that after the samples have been sent out to them.
they are placing an order with other suppliers after few months ago.
and they are located at the same city.
we are surprised that why they didn't asking us is it we can accepting the order or not ?
of course we are still cooperated with each other until now.
we are checking with our point.
our quality and delivery time are no any problmes to each other.

What did u thinking of this customer ?
is it they want to cut off the business with us ?
Is it we can have chance to cooperate with them ?
how can we talking with our customer on this things?
thank you !!!!

Replying to [Stella Weng]: I dont know if you are a factory or if you are a trading company. But if your a trading company. Your client most likely found the manufacturer of another trading company that could offer the same product and quality for a lowwer price. This can be reviewed from a retail standpoint also. The more your client can buy at a lowwer price the more they can leverage sales against larger retailers. Even in my business I have multiple suppliers for the same product. The reason being is that supplier prices will go up but some suppliers try to test the waters by making huge price increase demands. I have a product now that I import by the container load from China and have 3 suppliers. I buy form all 3 but my "A" Supplier has excellent deliverability and my 2 "B" suppliers a little slower deliverability but the same price as "A". However if "A" trys to make a price incerease and both of the "B" suppliers price stays the same or the increase is much smaller. I would inform "A" that unless they reduce their price that I will be unable to buy from them. This is good business as the buyer must maintain a profit margin as well. Samples can work for you or they can work against you. If you are the manufacturer and you provide the best quality at fair market value you will win your customer. However, if the quality is good yet the price seems to high based on market value of similar products the buyer may shop around. Once again this is just business.

Is it we can have chance to cooperate with them ?--->Of course, you need improve yourself, maybe ask them what's your shortages, (But avoid to ask this sample matter)

In my opinion, the key is price! as your article said your quality and delivery is good, but they always send your sample to other clients.he want to compare which manufactory's price more lower on the same products.because this is business, the situation usally happened, but if you think you are right,i think he will option you[em19]

Quoting from [Stella Weng]:

At the time of submitting the sample, you might have submitted the price, leadtime and etc: If you have collected your sampleing charges and if your price, lead-time,quality etc not suited he may search and place the order with some new supplier:

If you have not collected any sampleing charges and

you have not quoted price, & terms etc

without asking your final result, it is improper to shift to a new supplier

So analyse and work accordingly

A sample is only a sample!

It does not represent committment to buy, only interest.

Replying to [ChurchillUK]: I agree if you really intend on buying, but on the other hand if you are going to use the sample to get another supplier to design a mould or process, at least buy the sample. Manufacturers/inventors put money, time and effort in to design products, so to obtain a sample under false pretences to skip the R&D process, is like stealing (my opinion only).
