Hello, I was chatting with one of these companies from Nigeria. They say there is no escrow service there.
What they offered me that sound reasonable, and I would like to know what you think, is:
To send money through Western Union with a password. But not give the Password. When they know the money is there they will send merchandise.
When I recieve and check the merchandise, then I give them the password.
I called Western Union and they said they did have this password service.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

Hi,

If you don't already know, there are a lot of scam artists originating from Nigeria. I was almost a victim and Im glad I didnt continue with the transaction.

Bottom line, dont give the password or even do business with anyone from Nigeria.

we are manfactures in China, and we only make two times about Western Union, but in fact, i don't know this service. generally speaking, our buyer send us payment via Western Union, and tell us the password, we often go to the bank to get the payment  then send the products to our buyer.

Replying to [HONESTBUYER]:Looks like Putian City is the heaven of scammers and criminals. Everything they sell is

either bogus or fake, but worse, most in Putian city ask for advance payment and then as

soon as they receive the money then suddenly their phone numbers change, their titles and

positions change even the website they were doing business with change. Yet, some of these

so called traders are listed with Alibaba as not just gold member but as Trustpass member.

I am not sure where the reputation of Alibaba goes into picture from this. I have recently

been scammed by and taken my money and no goods were shipped. I like everyone to know and

be careful when they do business with this particular group. The tarders name is:

Huayi Trading Firm

website on alibaba = http://sportshoescn.en.alibaba.com/

The individual scammers involved in this trading firm are

Mr. Chunhua Ou

Mr. Jianxing Zhu

Mr. Derong Chen

Mr. Hexing Huayi

Mr. Hongguang Huo

and others. This trading firm (and the same people) also do business with other names such

as:

www.Shoeskycn.com

www.Sportshoecn.com

www.Moboem.com

and so on.

Please look for these individials' names and those websites and firms when doing business

with them. This is simply a group of thugs and criminals that will take your money and may

not ship any goods or inferior or fake goods to you as they did to me.

I have written to Alibaba a few times. I am yet to hear from them.

 Hi sir,

I did understood your mood. Yup, almost every buyer from abroad was scammed or attractive by those frauds as they declared/listed a cheap price/good quality  goods on their showroom, especially they asked for Western Union way and advanced deposit...

TO avoid to get scam from those guys, my suggestion is to get their licences info which was inquired tosubmit to Alibaba  Team, whatever they are Golden Suppier or Trust Pass( of course, the fraud won't submit) ,then you can guarantee you may ask for some help from China( employ someone from China to help, submit the licence info to Alibaba Team, moreover you can  come to China to find related authority organization for help; )  ,

why do i advise this way? as all of the licence info was submitted by Suppliers, they must be verified by the authorities in China, such as Administration commerce managent Burea,Police Station, local Government etc....  so it is much safer i thought, and you can source them out while you found you got scammed....... Hope this help you out somewhat.

Hi Honestbuyer,

If they are asking you for money to be sent via western union, they are fraudulent.  Recently I was scammed by a company in out of $2800.  I've since learned that all scammers on here ask you to send money to them via western union.  It's no way to get a refund back from them and no way for them to be tracked.  Don't buy if they ask for the money via western union, money transfer, or bank wire.

I found a new site where all of the wholesalers are verified and you can use your credit card to purchase from them.  Using your credit card means your purchases is insured and if anything should happen, you can always contact your credit card company to get your funds back.  Very good in this business.  Visit http://mysalehoo.com for more information.  I hope this helps.

I think its fair to say that I for one will never send cash on when I make a new... friend here

This opens me up to a few things.

Once the reciever gets the money. they have full control (i don't know them) they can do whatever they want and its the right thing.

I prefer to use paypal.. yes il pay the 7% at first just to be shure im actualy making the right friends... that's the most important thing to me.

I think its plain stupid to send cash as it was not even made for buisness trading!.

Escrow services and things that offer protection are a great advantage and PIECE of mind for the seller and buyer, I think if the buyer has some kind of a problem with you securing YOUR money then they best sit back relax and take the passenger side of the car.. and just look.

its best to be safe then sorry especialy during these times... if 20% of the people here are scammers count that as 20% total revenue loss.

lets not all forget that the scammers post here to!
