I have recently retired from public service. My wife and I are going to start a small retail business in the United States.
My question is:

How do we find an shipping agent so we can import products from China and other countries.

Thank You

it's a piece of cake for me to find a reliable shipping agent in China for you. I can be your sourcing and purchasing representative in China and protect your interests at all times. I can solve everything regarding foreign trade at my end as I've been a foreign trade manager for nearly 6 years.

I would recommend my agent Global Network Logistics to you. They are agent of UPS/Fedex in Hong Kong and China They obtain good rate from UPS/Fedex. Also they have good airfreight rate if your volume is big. They do freight collect shipments too. You may find their contact at www.azfreight.com

Hey Howard, so your looking for a shipping agent? How to find one depends on what kind of services your looking for. If you are just trying to find a freight forwarding company then you can arrange a deal with them to ship containers to your destination for a price which would include customs clearance, pick up and delivery.

The important part is, you need to find a company with international

standards, easy payment procedures, and experience dealing with

shipping commercial shipments. I happen to work for one, if you need a quote please contact me.

Replying to [Howard]: The factory in China I am working with is saying they will find an agent- should I trust this? I am new to this so don't want there to be any problems with customs in the US.

Replying to [Howard]:Hi Howard, That is simple, you can ask you supplier to quote you CIF or CNF basis.
This will keep you from hassle work..Later when your business grows and established you can ask your forwarder to introduce you some good forwarding agents, now-a-days big shipping companies can tell you there good agent details.. you can ask with them to introduce you there agents in destination and supplyer region.

You may find a agent from China too. Check out rate from them. So you have a idea whether your factory gives you a good shipping rate or not. You may check out from my agent Global Network Logistics.
