China’s economic rise has led to a substantial growth in US-China economic relations. For the United States, China is now its second largest trading partner, its fourth-largest market, and its second-largest source of imports.

Many people say that China’s fast economic growth may become a threat to the US economy. What’s your opinion; is China really a threat to the US?

No, because China's economy depends on US, but US economy does not depend on China alone. If US stopping spending, EU will stop too, then China will have no customers.

On the other hand, if China stops producing cheap goods, US can always find other sources from Thai, Vietnam, or other developing countries or maybe India! Even though the price may be higher, but the Americans (I learned) are quite resourceful......

well, i do not think CHina is a threat, rather, both of them are complements to each another. China needs the high-technology products from the USA, whilst the USA needs the huge market and low-technology products like food and raw material from China

"Is China a Threat to the U.S Economy" - NO WAY. I do not think so if we are talking in terms of economic terms.

Replying to [Admin]:As for me, a Chinese, i don't care whether it is a threat. I just care about which have higher quality or Cheaper price. Which are better for me. I don't know what Americans think. For me, go to *, threat. It's the economists business.

It is really a myth that everybody thinks US needs China or vice versa. No, it does not.

USA does not necessary need all these food and raw materials solely from China. I am in the food business, there are ways to get cheaper stuff from other countries like South East Asia, and South America.

As for China, they import technologies from Russia, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan (not sure if it is true or not, but taiwan is one of the semiconductor leaders), not necessaries from US.

What do you mean threaten? for the America economic rank?
We believe that the China can not instead of America in recent years.Amerca is much richer than China.
China is still a big developing country, some place people still have live problems.Every body know that the China home ecomonic is very unbalance between Eastern and Western.

China has his big problems for home.It is said that China GDP is higher much than before, but as for an ordinary people,we donot know what it means. We just hope to have a better life, very simply.
For some survery of people month salary.I have to say it is not like that. A small amount of people's opinion does not mean all.

China hope to be best partener of America, but America seems not.they doubt all that who are with them, whatever you did ,they would think every motion of it.The coin has two side.

Believe that America has the answer already.
