How to protect your goods when dealing with nigerian ?
Post 1 of 9

This is a serious question

Why there are so many cheaters in african countries ?

Why there is fax or telephone no. is UK or USA no. ? how do they process the deal ?

Why there are many african customers just want to collect the samples and no any reply then ? Are they running a retail shop in their local market ?

How we can protect the goods which will be sent the african market ?

Better do not deal with them.
If you have received full amount of cash in to your account you can send the goods. Double verify the credit.,

Sometimes, you may have received payment in full before shipping goods and the transaction goes well first and even a second time. Then a large third transaction goes foul. You need to be principled when dealing with africans in general. Payment in full first and shipping afterwards ALWAYS!!!

Play safe to avoid any regrets!

Replying to [Pelles]: I am African and I can tell you in your case BEWARE. With Nigeria better get your payment first and be careful not sending any "free" samples.
Btw I did not like some of the comments I found them racist. It is not because you have fraudsters in Africa that ALL african business people are thieves. There are legitimate ones. Anyway you can shut the door to one of the most profitable places on earth some smarter people won't mind.
The Chinese have a say if there is no risk there is no profit.

first the phone or fax from UK or USA is because they are using the VOIP forwarding system, it means Voice Over Internet Protocol, and some companies in this feild provide a vertual USA or UK number to you and when someone calls this number the call gets forwarded to your PC. and you feel nothing..
well this is not bad or wrong but it disables you from finding there exact location and address.
as for samples , well haven't you heared of paid samples before??
ask for price of sample and freight, and if sample is cheap add the cost to the cost of shipping and tell the customer " sample is free if you pay for shipping"[em3]
not all Nigerian are bad but be careful for any customer can be bad...
get cash in hand by T/T then send goods out, and stay on this track, never trust but money in hand. I have a friend from Shenzhen who was cheated by a customer from Australia , they had good business for a couple of times them Boom, he got the order and never paid.
do you know that some people in China are living on selling samples to people on the net? think smart act smart, never refuse an order even if it was for a sample , but always make money even from a sample.

Replying to [Pelles]:Nigerian con artist rings are nothing if not creative. With all the attention that has been brought to bear on the standard Nigerian Scam Letter Fraud, the fraud rings have been under pressure to develop new concepts - and they are very, very good at it.

Sometime in 2002 the Counterfeit Check Fraud game was developed. It has been highly successful and in short order has proliferated around the globe via the Internet, the Nigerian fraudsters favorite weapon. This fraud has now reached epidemic proportions.

The most important factor of these new scams is that they rely entirely on the honesty of the victim.

This is a new twist in as much as involvement in a Nigerian Letter Scam means the victim has to agree to break any number of international laws, especially bank laws. In other words, it targets the victim's need or greed for large sums of money.

The new rash of scams is just the opposite. They arrive in the guise of a normal, day-to-day business transactions. They rely on the ignorance of good business practices on the part of the victim. They are 100% based on the fact that most people will conduct business with a total stranger thousands of miles away in the same manner as they would their neighbor in a small town.

These new scams also rely on an expectation that has been ingrained into our learning curve for generations: your bank will take care of you. The huge misconception of the bank's role in safeguarding the community is the cornerstone of this new rash of frauds.

Check all details of the person and company before you get involve. Their embassy or consulate in your country will assist you.

Replying tI speak in this debate where it is said that it is necessary to be wary of the Nigerians for saying that a true businessman must initially inform himself on the person or the company with which it wishes to establish trade. Whether it is of a Nigerian or another. Because, in my opinion, the swindle does not have a race, of nationality or border. It is universal. It is for saying that one unfortunately finds swindlers in all the countries of the world. The swindlers Nigerians specialized in what I would call the swindle of low level. Indeed, it is really necessary to miss attention to fall into their co traps. We have today the Internet with search engines as Google which enable us to make very fast investigations on the existence of a company, of an individual. Because it happens that the swindlers use names of existing or fictitious companies. But where trickery is detected it is when this company is saying has a free address email when it has a Web site. When one has the name of the company or the person, one can check if it is visible on the Net, if it has a telephone fixes, a fax, an address, if it is registered in the telephone directory of her country, etc And finally, it is necessary to discuss on the telephone with the person or chatter with her on Trade Manager in order to see whether one deals with true businessman. One will detect quickly by the embarrassed hesitations, answers, the inaccuracies in the answers, the requests hastened for payment per Western Union or samples that one business with a notorious swindler. And politely, one can decline the offer of purchase or sale. Here, in my opinion of the means of avoiding being made have. There are certainly other possibilities still. One thus should not engage with the light one. Prudence must always be the principal rule to respect absolutely in the commercial transactions.o [Pelles]:

Most of the customers that if they are interested in your products, They would like to pay the sample cost and freight charges, even to be collected.

If the customers only want to get the free samples( no paying the freight charges), please be aware.

If the customers just check the price ( maybe the price checker ), no any reply since from that...They may your competitors ( espicaly for your local market )

If the customers would like to pay sample cost and ask you to pay the freight charges, You need to evaluate the customers more and more....

Why there are so many cheaters in african countries ?= in African countries the cheaters are always the rich people or you can say most times are rich people. The people who are staying there & doing good business they dont want to see other people come in africa & do business & only those who staying there can make money & they teach nigerians how to do scams .

Why there is fax or telephone no. is UK or USA no. ? how do they process the deal ? = getting any number from internet is as easy as eating food.

Why there are many african customers just want to collect the samples and no any reply then ? Are they running a retail shop in their local market ? NOPE if anyone is asking you for sample ask them sample charges or if they dont pay you sample charges ask them to pay shipping & handling charges & before sending them samples just check their BCL from top 30 banks to be sure they really have some money.

How we can protect the goods which will be sent the african market ?Deal with them at your own risk second thing to do any business in african market yu have to be present there or staying there for atleast a year.
