Don't touch multinational company business
Post 1 of 14
Working as seller's reps in Alibaba open up opportunities to work with other sellers from my country and region. However, multinational company decline to participate because they were bound by the laws and agreement that had been signed.

For example, I've inquired from a well established multinational computer producer after reading about inquiry in Alibaba. The finance director of that company is a friend of mine and he says there is no way that I could trade their products as they already have reps in that particular country. He mentioned that, once there is a reps in one country then their business is untouchable except thru that representative or representatives.

Same goes with the information pass by another friend of mine who holds the communication director post in a multinational tyre producer company. I had a lead from an Indonesian buyer but he said the buyer can contact their reps in Jakarta to buy their products.
In other words, once there is a reps in one particular country, their business will not be touched. I think this will create some problem for any buyer who wish to buy directly from any producer.

And for those who buys through any seller on multinational company product from Alibaba, then I suggest they should be careful because they maybe have problems in importing the goods or they might buying a second rate products.

Alibaba is a good site for connecting west and east as there are lots of products that is available to trade but maybe Alibaba's admin could disqualified any sellers who claimed access to multinational company products?

whats your idea about this, welcome reply here.

Hi, dear sir, when one company has a representative in one particular region, the reps is certainly as the exclusive granted authority, normal they have signed the contract, that when other buyers want to import the same goods, the manufacturer can not export to them, must contact with the reps and sell the good to the local company.
we can image that if the factory export the goods to the region where there is a reps, the saling price would can not be controled to the similar level, the market would appears "price war", at last, the price would be cut down low, of course the profit is very keen. in this case, it will not only miss the reps, but also devaluate the products in some countries' markets.

And what's your opinion?

Replying to [Grace Tung]:Dear Miss Tung, I hope every buyer in Alibaba understand that there is no way that multinational company can be imported to other region from onother region's reps for example from Malaysian reps to USA . This will interfere with the business of the reps in USA and as such there will be complications between the company and their reps.
To keep everything in order, there is no way this transaction will go thru. The parent MNC can be sued by the reps for allowing this to happened.
Besides that, all prices are standard for all the reps but the timing of promotion wil be different. For example, Toyota will launch an advance version of its car in Japan in January but will only sell it in Malaysia, lets say 6 months later. Same goes to other MNC. Sell to advance country will be followed up by developing and last to the third world country.
But there is no way that MNC products will be sold from country to country, region to region and so on. Sales will be done only thru the reps of those companies in their respective areas.
In other word there is no price war as the parent company will be in control as they will be competing with other MNC company in all those designated regions.
