How should & what %age should we pay for samples.

For sample, if the buyer should pay for it or not, I think it depends on the cost of the sample.
If there is the cost of goods is little, just some air freight. Ok, I think the seller can send you free. However, if the sample is costly, the buyer should pay for the cost of the sample and air freight.

As a sellers(energy saving lamp). in general. we just offer free samples, but we ask buyer to pay samples freight.

if buyers want to get many samples(exceed 15$), then we will ask to pay samples charge.

if you are a buyers, buyer want to get free samples ,don't pay samples freight, it's best way!

how to do it? base on you discuss with partners.

but the sky can't fall down pizza!

Replying to [Harjeet]: It is imporant to pay for the sample, the reason behind of it is : Sample takes longer time to make and great effort, the more time is consumed and the material. We need expert to make most of the sample, which we have to pay for it. For some samples which are regular products need not to pay, because it is not the sample for the manufacturer. But if it costs you a lot and you are willing to send to your big customer, then you or we may not request for the payment of sample. If the new customer is asking for the products, we may definitely ask them to pay.

The matter of paying for the sample depends on person to person and we can not determine from outside. It is inside of the company policy. There are some customers one who collects samples from different manufacturer and sell the sample in big value and make good money. Also, there are some customers one who ask for the sample, their order is sample and not the order. I do not mean to underestimate to the buyer, my intention is only to protect of supplier's interest. We have been experiencing from some customers and we have bitter experience from the person to whom we send the samples with out payment (I mean free).

Always, we have to think the future probability of business and send the sample. It is waste of time and money.WITHOUT NEW SAMPLE NO BUSINESS
