Recently we have been notified that some members have received phish emails (as shown below) from scammers intending to steal their Alibaba login ID and password.

When you click the links within the above email, they will quickly re-direct you to another website which with Fake links or URL address (Click here for more information) which aims to collect your personal information.

Please be aware of a number of fraud or spam emails that have been circulating on the Internet recently. This type of email has already affected the some of world's leading websites including Yahoo, EBay, Amazon, as well as our own website, Alibaba.com.

The people who send these emails hope that unsuspecting recipients will reply to the email or click on a link contained in the email, and submit sensitive personal information (i.e., Alibaba passwords or credit card numbers, registration information) in fake feedback forms.

The key to reducing the effect of this type of email is awareness, education and vigilance. We encourage you to be cautious when responding to any email request for sensitive personal information.

If you have encountered a similar situation, please contact our service team at Alibaba@alibaba-inc.com.

Sincerely,

The Alibaba Team.

Replying to [Admin]:It seems that you should have a better enforcement policy in place to toss out and block the scammers

I thought there are articles on how to prevent phish and scammers.

Maybe Articles should be posted again to remind ppl to be careful.

Anyhow, 1 good way to sign up a dummy email from yahoo or msn, and do everything with that dummy email. While business contact and other important contact use your work email or personal email. That's what I did, and I get a clean inbox everyday.

Oh by the way, I am not sure if you knew it already, your browser carries your email address. Go to your browser setting and change it to your dummy email.

Gd Luck

This raises a few points.
1/ For them to even send us a message, they would need to be
members.
2/ Our company details can be viewed anyway by other members.
3/ Is it not alibaba that sends us an email, saying we have a message
from another member. Or is it system generated, when the message is
sent from the member.

Whenever I receive an e-mail from Alibaba informing me of that I have a message from another member, I never click the line on the informing e-mail as I am not sure whether it is real or fake. Instead,
I just sign in the portal and go to MyAlibaba to check. When I checked my inbox, two times there were no new messages and those two were phising mails. So they failed in phising me..
