You know the total details of RMG exports from BD. You know very well about the major importers of  RMG from BD from the data. To improve your industry status still more  you have to give more exposure to your products by participating in international tradefairs, approach big giants like wallmart and do all efforts through your organisations.

We didnot find made in BD labeled RMG in the market  or Bangaladesh branded products in the market.

Replying to [Agrawal]: Mr. Agrawal, have you ever visited Bangladesh?

Do you think a child can operate a swing machine, overlock machine, fladlock machine, cutting machine, ebroydery machine, garments printing machine etc.? Don't you think, the fact which you have shown about the low price was really very funny?

Yes there are child labor in Bangladesh but that you will find in place like workshop, small roadside shop, bar bar shop or low grade restaurent and they work as an helping hand. In garments you will not find any child labor because that is totally prohibited from BGMEA.

I have visited India several times (10-15 times till now) and saw many child working in workshop and many other places. I saw child labor in Calcutta, Darjeeling, Delhi, Mumbai, Madras and many other places in India. You can not deny that in India or Pakistan, there are no child labor.

So before posting a comment, do not just post what you have seen in the TV or documentary film. Try to know the fact first and learn about that perticular industry of a country and post your comment.

Replying to [curdrice]: Bangladesh is not only working for Wallmart but also working for well know big giant like Carrefour, JC Penny,
K-mart etc. in regular basis.

Carrefour, K-mart, Wallmart, JC Penny, Target etc. they have agent in Bangladesh who are working for them.

Which market you did not find any garments labeled made in BD?
Few monthd back I have visited Frankfort in Germany with few of my friends. We went for shopping and saw lots of rmg made in bd. And I have also contacted with few buyers and collected lots of orders from there. I am still working on them and it will take this year to fullfill the whole order which I have collected from Germany.

You can collect all the data from http://www.bgmea.com/

This is the official website for BANGLADESH GARMENTS MANUFACTURERS AND EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION....

All the garments are located in Dhaka, Narayangonj and Chittagong city. Dhaka is our major and capital city. And Chittagong is our port city and all import & exports are catering through this city. 60% of the garments industries are located in Dahaka zone and rest to others.

You can lear more about the city from the following websites:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhaka

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chittagong

Your Question is what do you think about RMG in BD?. We have given what we knew about. What do you expect from us?

Well your question was what do i think about RMG from bangladesh and that was my view. I am here in UK and they are showing lot of stuffs on TV especially about bangladesh... HOW Tesco is exploiting child labour to get cheap stuffs from you and you let them get away just like that ! So many documentaries won't be wrong i guess... you will ofcourse say that there is no child labour in your industry...what they showed on TV din't look like children were helping people... it looked like they were being working as slaves and mind you it was a secret camera from which the video was shot and it was from not 1 but many factories. I agree. I don't care how the industry works in India or Pakistan... the topic now in discussion is RMG in BD and so we should stick to it.

Replying to [curdrice]: I have given those link because lots of trading articles are given there. In Bangladesh, Dhaka, Chittagong and Narayangonj are the main Industrial sector and in the wikipedia lots of links are given related to international trading. It is not possible for me to provide all data. So i gave the link so that someone can easily read and learn more abt it.

And BGMEA website is the main website for RMG Association. So it will be helpfull for all who wanted to know.
