Should under_score biz names frighten me?
Post 1 of 4

 [em9] I would like to know the basic truths of a name?

I see a name is used with an under_score as part of it's make-up. I see a name with numbers. Can anyone help, as when I see these businesses I run scared and delete without checking anything.

When registering/incorperating a business, underscores in the name will usually make it a non-distinguishable name and thus are not accepted. As far as numbers and letters they must consist of letters in the Roman alphabet, Arabic numerals (0, 1, 2, 3, etc.). If its a internet based business numbers are not all that uncommon but you will hardly ever find a proffesional business with a domain name that will include a underscore. I wouldn't recomend staying away from all business names that have unusual characters because it may simply be a error made when listing by a person foreign to english text. I would definatly investigate further to make sure they are legit outside of the name. Keep in mind im only talking about US law, perhaps in other countries the rules for business names are different. Can anyone else confirm this? I hope this helps you.

First off, you need to understand the following..........

Business's and Company E-Mail addresses do not use under scores. If they do, then be very bloody wary, because a company email server should be able to accomodate any employee, with out the need for under scores, letters, numbers etc.

If a company has 2 employees with the same "First and Last" name, then the following may apply;

Steven Jones.....his email might be steven.jones@anycompany.com
Steven Jones.....his email might be jones.steven@anycompany.com

Stay away from emails with numbers, digits, yahoo or hotmail, gmail, etc. If they say they are a business, then should have a legitimate business email address. End of story.
