HI,
After spending almost 5 hours (just for today) reading this thread and doing checks on a company I still don't know if i am going to be scammed or not....
I am quite new to importing from china.. The case is :
I looked on the internet for a Chinese manufacturer he gave me MOQ quotation , SGS certificate, presentation, some pictures.BUT they require T/T and balance before shipping.
I did my homework but not yet convinced that its not a scam, i mean it is maybe a reliable company but that does not stop for example The contact person to get my cash and turn his back.
So the company is called:

I would be highly suspicicious under the facts that you have described, especially when payment can only be accomplished by Western Union transfer. The reason that payment is by Western Union is that you will never know that would pick up your payment and the identity of the person you paid. Depending you the laws and regulations of the your country, in the US where I practice law, I always advised clients not to pay through Western Union because it is not possible to trace your money, one of the highly effective methods to find who the unscrupulous people are.

It seemed you have done your due diligence to check out the company. When transacting with a foreign companies, international law like the United Nations Convention of International Sales of Goods, or UN CISG 1980, applies. You may also have additional rights afforded by your home country. The best methods is protect your investment by using other secure methods of payments such as L/C, which will allow you to inspect the goods/merchandises after it has arrived to your destination. That said, I would also trust your guts instinct. As the says goes, if it is too good to be true, it probably is.

Replying to [Ranger]:WATCH OUT I ORDERED SAMPLE MEMORY CARDS WORTH $800 USD AND THEY GAVE ME A TRUCKING NUMBER AND PACKAGE IS IN CUSTOMS, CUSTOMS REFUSE TO CLEAR THE GOODS AND SAID PACKAGE MUST BE DESTROYIED. LEO DONT CARE AND STOPS RESPONDING TO MY EMAILS/
WHAT I THINK THEY ARE SCAMMERS WHO PLAY LIKE THAT:
THEY DONT PUT YOUR PRODUCTS INTO THE PACKAGE THEY PUT SOME CRAP WORTH A DOLLAR AND THAT IS PROHIBITED AT THE BORDERS,THE CUSTOMS STOP THOSE ITEMS AND DESTROY THEM AND AND SUNSKY HAS CLEAN HANDS. THATS HOW THE SCAM PEOPLE.
IF YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEM THEN CONTACT ME AND WE CAN RUIN THEM. MY AFFILIATES IN CHINA HAVE POLICE REPORTS FILED AGAINST THEM ALLREADY. AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE EVIDENCE OF THIER MISCONDUCT. THEY SENT ME THE ITEMS IF THE ORDER IS 400 OR 300 DOLLARS BUT IF THE ORDER IS LARGE THEY SCAM U AND SEND YOU CRAP. THEY LURE YOU IN THEN STEAL FROM YOU. SOMETIMES THEY LOSE ON ITEMS JUST TO LURE YOU. YOU CANT EVEN BUY THIS CHEAP IN CHINA.

Firstly please excuse how naive i may seem but i'm just doing as much research as humanly possible before i decide what i'm planning on importing
After reading through all the precautions, checks and stories of transactions gone by the wayside, is it an idea to say that if a seller has a lengthy trustpass membership e.g. 1 1/2 - 2 yrs plus with payment methods other than and including W/U and T/T they could be considered as trustworthy

Replying to [tonymac]:Tony, Was recently scammed by a company called SHENZHEN TIALNLING ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY CO LTD. When I went so far as to call Alibaba I was told "We are only a middle man. We are not responsible. Specifically I oreded "Ipod Nano 4GB" and got cheap knockoffs. Good luck on your end too. FYI-reputable companies will allow escrow with a partial down payment. Never again will I send to a comapny requiring western union payment. Good luck everyone!
