I should have read this forum before I sent money to Putian Chengxiang Huacheng Trade Co. Ltd. for 5 units of Nokia N95 and one (1) unit of HTC TyTN II.

I was assured by a certain TomZhang that Putian is an Alibaba Gold Supplier and does not sell fake products. I did verify that Alibaba gave a Gold Supplier status to Putian. Since Alibaba just had a very successful IPO in Hongkong, I thought a company of such public standing will not put its stamp of approval to a scammer. It turned out that I was dead wrong.

What I received were 5 units of fake Nokia N95 and a fake DoPod unit (instead of an HTC TyTN II).

After visiting this forum and realizing that this company had scammed so many people and yet continues to enjoy the Alibaba Gold Supplier status, and after seeing that there are many other Alibaba Gold Suppliers who are also in the scam business, it is now plain obvious that Alibaba is actually an accessory to the proliferation of fake products from China to the world.

What I cannot fathom is that Alibaba has just been rewarded with a high-profile and exceptionally successful IPO.

It appears to me now that our battle is not only with the Chinese scammers, but with Alibaba itself.

I just wrote to Alibaba a few minutes ago before visiting this forum. If Alibaba does not respond properly, I will publish my correspondence to them in the internet. It will be the start of something...

I hope Alibaba sees this post and take notice.

I wonder if the Chinese authorities are aware about Alibaba's being an accessory Chinese scammers. Given the recent highly publicized product recalls from China, I would have thought that Chinese authorities would be more pro-active in protecting its tarnished reputation in the world market.

Hello iceman,

We have written a Letter of Complaint to Alibaba about our sad experience with Putian Chengxiang Huacheng Trade Co, Ltd. That was about 5 days ago. So far, we have not received any reply.

We will wait for another 3 days for the reply. If we do not receive any reply from them, we will publish our Letter of Complaint in our temporary website about Chinese Scammers at alibabascammers.freespaces.com.

We also intend to start a campaign against Chinese Scammers and platforms for Chinese Scammers. In this regard, we will improve our current website on Chinese Scammers and get people to spread the word around.

We will let you know more about what we intend to do next week when we get to sit down with our staff on the matter.

We need to put a stop to these Chinese Scammers.
