The middle man should be!

As the middle man you are making your profits from the deal, and needless to say you have to protect your own interest.

You arrange for the transhipment thru your forwarder, switch documents, Bill of Lading, Invoice, packing list & etc...to ensure that no confidential information(buying & selling price, source) is being exposed to either buyer or seller.

If you leave it to the seller and/or the buyer, then why do they need you for? They would have deal directly without the middle man, right?

Shipment., Transhipment.. are one of the activity in transport. The shippers will act very carefully to deliver the goods.
If something happens we have to make marine insurance to safe guard our goods.

I think, it is subject to which terms used. If it is based on FOB, the importer(maybe the middle man) will be responsible for transhipment. However, if it is based on CFR or CIF, the exporter will be responible for it.
Best regards,
Tony. [em1]

Good day,
Alas it is not the forwarder that is legally responsible. It depends on your take on "Responsibility", responsible for what?

If it is loss/damage/pilferage and you have a spare hour, let me know and I will be happy to advise you the legal why's and wherefores.
