IF YOU RECEIVE EMPTY OR PARTIALLY FILLED CONTAINER, WHAT CAN YOU DO.

HOW EASY OR DIFFICULT IS TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. ALSO THE PROFIT THAT YOU LOOSE IF YOU HAD GOODS TO SELL FOR A PARTICULAR SEASON?

Replying to [balu1234]:We could not do anything when a container against L/C which should have come with copper granules was found with used computer monitors when arrived in Chennai port from UK. Meanwhile, the L/C beneficiary got paid by the bank since the documents were carrying the Description as per L/C and there was no discrepancy at all in documents.

The importer was punished with levy of penaly by Customs in Chennai and the supplier was silent and legal notices sent by Registered Speed Post got returned undelivered.

It resulted in huge loss.

The importer is facing problem with the banker also since he could not clear the cargo and produce Bill of Entry.

Reputed International Inspection agencies need to be involved though it is costing more to avoid this kind of losses.

Replying to [balu1234]:[em2][em2]There are nothing that you can do but stop buying from that supplier. The only real thing that you could do is hire some one to inspect and make sure that you get what you pay for. Lock the contaner and send you the key. [em2]

Replying to [balu1234]: This why it is so important that goods be inspected before shipping especially from an unqualified trading partner. The money spent on the inspection would have saved you the out of pocket expenses.

This is why experienced businessmen include this as being 70% of your "Due Dillegence".

Best regards,

Ranger

The best way is to send someone to supervise charging in containers. You will be sure that in containers is exactly what you buy Replying to [balu1234]:
