The best place to start is to place a Buy ad on alibaba, by simply clicking on teh blue "Buy" button at the top of this page. Then you would also need to decide from which country you want to import wines from?
What is the wine market like in India?Would be interesting to hear your views.

In terms of wine there is two things to consider :
One will be the quality of the intended purchase.(a)
Lenght of travel time (b)
a- There is much diference among the red wine quality that a good purchase will depend on the type of wine your looking for. There is countries like France and Italy ,that has been producing wine for ages ,they have several diferent ways of packaging ( and this is general) that will ensure that quality to the final consumer. Nowdays Tetrapack packaging is very well acepted in the low segment of the consumer, and ensures durability. Bottle wine in the other hand is very important that you make sure that the cork is absolutely seal off , to prevent air from getting in.White wine are some what fragil and you shall take in consideration travel time and temperature of the container in the journey to final destination. Other countries like CHILE, ARGENTINA, BRAZIL,URUGUAY, GERMANY, EEUU, CALIFORNIA(NAPA VALLEY) ETC , I sure thta if you look a little harder you will find a good quality wine close to final destination.
(B) It is important and not a lite issue for you to make sure that wine, needs to be maintained at an even temperature to protect your investment,so be careful on the final arrangements.
hope taht this can help you. Edie.

You people are giving:
1) the wine varities and history of wine
2) the wine making countries and quality
3) one lady is inviting him for business to her country and ask him to contact
4) one man is asking him how to contact
You must give the straight answer for himfor his questions. You can write an essay about wine, quality, wine makeing countires, intrnational trade about wine.

We have recently coducted market survey for Napa Valley wines from California. These are upmarket wines which can cost $500 a bottle and are targeted at 5-star consumers.
Ordinary table wines can be had from eastern european countries. But, wine import can attaract 257% duties. So be careful about FOB prices.

In fact perhaps you feel that way, but from what I see written on this forum, your comments are out of context, I am not selling wine or canvassing wine for that matter.
I gave my opinion, whether is usefull or not, is up to the interested party to review, and not for you to comment in the context, you are not a qualified trade critic, that is up to others.Eddie

If you want to import quality wine into India I would suggest importing Australian wine. Geographically this would work to keep shipping times down, plus Australia produces some of the best wine in the world.
I would start by contacting SouthCorp Wines, they are owned by Fosters Group, the largest producer of alcohol in the world and they are also the largest wine producer in the world. They export all over the globe, here is a link to their contact info:
http://www.fosterswineestates.com/about/contact_details.htm
If I were you, this is where I would start, plus if you do business with them they have the knowhow and connections for trasporting wine long distance. I drink their wine here in the US and I must say it rivals much of what is in the Napa Valley.
Hope this helps, good luck
