We never use insurance
Post 1 of 22
we have been importing many times from china lots of kid goods by the way, and usually prefer to delivery term FOB, and we never use insurance as we had received as CIF, its same.

The exporters dont aggree to make insurance police by the way, maybe it was concerning with the confediantialism on trading in small village, in the World. [em10]

Replying to [haiden]:

Once the goods reach the ship/vessel, the goods are yours and in FOB shipment, the buyer has to look after the safety in all respect
so you hev to make arrangemetns for marine insurance adn after unloading from the goods from your port..the transit insurance in your country from port to warehouse..

This is a must, we cannot judge what will happen and when so we have to make all the insuracne whereever necessary.

Replying to [haiden]: It happens that a lot of times when we import nothing happens to the consignment. But imagine a unimaginable thing happening to your consignment like fire, damages etc., then if you are ready to take up the loss then its ok else its terrible.

When we exports goods to our customer, we suggest our customer cover the insurance which is much guarantee.
Of course, we will do based on which term shown in the contract. FOB, CFR or CIF are all ok for us, we will take it according to our customer's request.
Best regards,
Tony Han.

The( I  ) in CIF stands for insurance so someone had to be paying for insurance.

Replying to [haiden]:Insurance is basically to cover 'RISK'..if you have the capability to sustain risk..do not take insurance, it is waste of money..but, if you do not have further resources to bear loss--Take an Insurance Cover.
