Different kinds of L/C (Letter of Credit)

Can someone help me understand kinds of L/Cs. How does different types of L/Cs have impact on shipping. Also please provide some of the important clauses freight forwarders need to check prior to shipping.

Replying to [Sunil Abraham]:it is always depend on the agreement bwteen shipper and consignee, and terms of delivery, there are somany different condistions that you have to be specify the terms. payment terms etc. every l/c is not standard it depend on the agreement between both parties
